I'm Christmas shopping - help! In an effort to keep off the screens for one more year and somehow not disappoint too much, I'm thinking a mixing desk type thing might be good for my two. They are 14 yr DD and 9yr DS and both are musical (drums, violin, guitar, into most stuff from Taylor Swift to metal and plenty of mum and dad's alternative/indie/Americana in between).
The present would mainly be weighted towards DD (so teenager, pretty grown up) but the 9 yr old will want to play with it too. Our presents are always shared around. Think Beca from Pitch Perfect (although I can only remember her using a laptop).
We have absolutely no experience of mixing music so if anyone knows, please can you give me the tips on where to start beginner wise? I guess we need access to digital music, some kind of ability to hook up to laptop (and app/software), speakers?? How do I bring this altogether?
