Christmas crackers

For many years we have had the wind-up racing penguin / snowman / Santa type Christmas crackers. But we fancy something different this year. I've looked at Lakeland (usual choice) but nothing is grabbing me.

Where do you buy interesting and fun Christmas crackers? Anyone bought any yet?

I've posted this before, but these are my favourites:

These are a tad on the pricey side but they look good as the fillers can be reused.

John Lewis used to do fill your own. They came with hat and joke and ribbon to tie up when done and you pull them and the go bang (don't put underwear in, we scorched a pair one year). They used to be relatively cheap £5 for 6. Used to buy two packs and do for Boxing Day as well.

I did buy some fill your own from Dunelm which are refillable every year and the tube was much bigger. The fabric wrapper is a napkin. To be honest we have been doing this for so long I'm just about done with it. It's easy to fill for women, nail varnish, lipstick but after a couple of years of whisky/port miniatures, tyre pressure gauges am really stuck for the men. Haven't seen them in Dunelm since. They were all different colours and fabrics and I suppose I could substitute different napkins to pep it up a bit

Any ideas for the gifts to go inside gratefully received

I do fill your own and just put a couple of sweets in them. I think crackers are about the hats and the cheesy jokes rather than the prizes. I've gotten them in Marks in the past.

@Purplebunnie just remember to say if they win over a million they have to share 😂

Purplebunnie · 19/11/2024 18:32

😂😂
I'm sure I'd get a bar of chocolate out of it

We had balloon modelling ones last. Was absolutely hilarious seeing everyone’s attempts to make their balloon animals.

Now that's inspired!
