Dd will turn 11 just before Christmas so we have a double whammy of birthday and Xmas presents.

I've given all my good ideas to family to buy bits for her. I have a couple of things in mind but looking for inspiration!

She has asked for a badge maker so I've got her a proper metal one (not a crappy kids one) which will be a main present. And she's randomly asked for a CD player and CD's (she thinks it's cool. I feel old!).

Would love to hear what your girls have asked for/are getting Smile

My daughter is 11 on Xmas Eve! Shes asked for rollerskates and hair straighteners, a vanity mirror, oh and an iPad and iPhone so not much 😅🤣

newjobregrets · 17/11/2024 22:28

How funny I also have 11 year old the turning before Xmas

bagsts · 17/11/2024 22:30

Would also love some inspiration! I've got an 11 year old who's at a really tricky bit where she's grown up out teddies/toys, but has no interest in "teenage" stuff

YorkshireFelix · 17/11/2024 22:31

Ah that's very funny! Mine is 22nd dec.

@pollypocket90 I actually saw a tiktok of someone who had bought a light up vanity mirror from B&M for £25 which looked fab and amazing for the price. I think dd would love that so I may try and get one.

My 10yr old (going on 18) just wants clothes and hair stuff and makeup (not allowed). I’ve seen some gorgeous clothes in Mango so will get her an outfit or two. I actually got her an air dry clay set to put some fun back into her stocking. Books (not a keen reader but we put a lot of time into reading in our family so I choose very carefully)! Sol de Janiro perfume she was talking about. She’s an amazing baker so I’m thinking of a cake turntable too. Got her a waffle machine when she was 8 and we had waffles for 2 yrs for breakfast made for us!

Dd was 11 during the summer holidays. She has yet to ask for anything but has said she is struggling because she feels too old for toys but too young for lots of the make up and beauty based teen gifts.

She is a huge Harry Potter geek so I have got her a hoodie she loved at the studio tour. She is also developing a love for thestre so I have got her tickets to the touring production of Joseph.

Beyond that she will probably get a couple of books.

@bagsts I think this is what I'm struggling with too. I know some this age are asking for full skincare routines and stuff which dd isn't interested in! She likes to do a face mask and wear some mascara occasionally but that's about it (which I am glad about). I'd usually get craft kit type stuff but everything seems a bit young for her all of a sudden, and she's still got a couple of things she hasn't bothered with from last year like a friendship bracelet and tie dye kit.

Mine asked for make up but it was all toy stuff. I don't think she wants real stuff she is very hormonal love her

newjobregrets · 17/11/2024 22:39

Does someone have the link for the badge maker

Yep, mine not into make up but some of the craft/science kits which were previously big hits have been languishing since her birthday, which I don't want a repeat of!

So far I've got her a few books, have my eye on an alarm clock and then spent enough time staring at a ceramic lemon on special offer to know I'm not making good choices (I did not buy the ceramic lemon!)

I’ve a boy and he’s getting a PlayStation but I also got him an electric blanket 😂 he likes his comfort (also Rubix cubes and choc and baking supplies as he also loves cake )

YorkshireFelix · 17/11/2024 22:41

@newjobregrets this is the badge maker I have bought. It's a really decent one which my friend recommended who uses it for her business. I ended up buying the circle cutter and mat too so was around £80 in the end but I know it will last!

Dd is 10.5 and has an Amazon Wish list she edits throughout the year for grandparents benefit because they always want a list.

Her requested items this year are:

  • Lego kits
  • craft kits - squished maker, lip balm studio, nail art thing, candle making set
  • Capybara themed stationary stuff
  • a keyboard (musical not computer)
  • a couple of board games like Uno extreme
  • Lilo and Stitch squishmallow type thing

Primark had some nice cheap stocking filler ideas. Little velvet jewellery boxes with initials (£6 I think) and similar vanity cases
