Outsmarted game

For the last few Christmases I've kept getting ads for the Outsmarted interactive game. I've been really tempted by it and I'm think this year might be I give in. Has anyone got it and is it really any good or just a bit of a gimmick? I've no ideas for anything a bit different and thought it might be good. Family of older teens/adults so it would be good to have something we could do together

I've just this evening bought it on impulse after seeing an ad on Insta and lots of talk of other posts

Hope it will be good fun

mumtotwo11 · 13/11/2024 19:23

We got it last year and thought it was good x

Firstshoes · 13/11/2024 19:25

We love it. Well worth the money

MrsDeaconClaybourne · 13/11/2024 19:30

Ooh sounds promising then. I might go for it!

We love it, and you can buy add ons to suit your interests too.

Shieldmaiden01 · 13/11/2024 20:17

We have it. Fun game.

Bootcamp272 · 13/11/2024 20:25

We love it! We were in the group of original backers on Kickstarter in 2021 and it still gets requested regularly by the kids!

Starlight40 · 13/11/2024 21:03

We have it and enjoy it. It can be a bit of a wait for your turn if everyone keeps getting their questions correct. It’s a great game for all the family.

BoredZelda · 13/11/2024 21:20

Love it. But beware, if you try to login to use it on Christmas Day, it might be a struggle as the servers can’t cope with it,

parietal · 13/11/2024 21:40

looks interesting. can you set it to (for example) never give questions on football which my family know nothing about?

Ciderisrosier · 13/11/2024 21:42

We love it. It’s probably the most played board game in our house.

Another vote for outsmarted here! We play with 16 and 12 year old…it’s fab!

Trainstrike · 14/11/2024 16:38

We love it, but will echo the above that it becomes boring waiting for your turn if there are more than a couple of players. Especially if you play with good quizzers! There should definitely be a way to stop turns after a certain number of questions.

gokartdillydilly · 14/11/2024 17:03

Brilliant game if you love a quiz

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 14/11/2024 17:31

To those saying about waiting your turn if playing with good quizzers someone told me you should activate turbo mode so their time gets less

TiddlesUpATree · 14/11/2024 17:59

We love this game with our 9 and 12 year olds. They often do special deals on the additional question packs.

We use turbo mode but it still takes a while to kick in and if 6 people are playing and getting 3 or 4 right at a time it's still quite a while to wait!

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 14/11/2024 20:40

@Trainstrike oh ok thank you. Mine arrived today after only ordering yesterday. Might set it up at the weekend and give it a test run

marmitegirl01 · 14/11/2024 20:46

Seen the ads. Can someone give me a quick overview? Is it ok for 3 players or you need more?

Yes anything over 2 is good, it's essentially Trivial Pursuit where you have to collect rings instead of cheeses (or triangles...). Once you've got 6 rings you go through to the final round where you have to answer three quick fire questions right.

The big attraction is that it's kept up to date so you can select current events, new films, new songs etc. You choose the 6 categories you want at the beginning so instead of being stuck with History, Sport, Geography and so on, you can choose Animated Films, Football, Harry Potter etc.

You can also mark players as children and control how many extra "lifelines" they get, so we've been able to get ours involved from about 7 or 8 giving them extra 50/50s and extra time for questions.

marmitegirl01 · 15/11/2024 09:56

Thank you @Trainstrike
Amazing. Sounds right up our street. We love Triv. Think I'll get it 👏

MrsDeaconClaybourne · 15/11/2024 13:01

I've ordered it!
