That strange time in between what are your plans if anything?

Cleaning up and sleeping.

Littletreefrog · 04/11/2024 22:04

Well we are going to Iceland but that is not an every year event

YearningForAWinteryWinter · 04/11/2024 22:10

Hopefully just relaxing with some days out.

hattie43 · 04/11/2024 22:11

This is my hibernation week . I want down time after December . I don't answer my phone or open the door . I get my eating back on track , plan all my holidays and trips , walk the dogs , a long date with Netflix and make my Lego . Bliss

I’m going on holiday, first time in almost 18 months. Cannot wait as have had a terribly difficult couple of years at work. I usually take minimal work with me on holiday, but due to location this time it’s not possible. Can’t wait for some proper rest.

Suntree32 · 04/11/2024 22:12

Working.

RabbitsRock · 04/11/2024 22:14

DH & I are both off work so will hopefully do some day trips.

LouH5 · 04/11/2024 22:15

My mum and I are going for dinner and to the theatre in one of the days which will be a nice girly day out for us. I’m a teacher so I’m off, but my boyfriend will be working so I’ll probs just enjoy some down time to myself, maybe some lunches or catch ups with any friends that are off. Last year one of my friends had just bought a house and she hosted a little get together the day after Boxing Day, which was nice!

AperolWhore · 04/11/2024 22:17

We have a slow week that week but we do organise a dinner with friends and a sisters trip to the panto every year

StarDolphins · 04/11/2024 22:18

I love this time to relax, go for nice meals, walks & just enjoy being off work. It’s so busy on the run up to Christmas.

SpeculatingRooks · 04/11/2024 22:19

I got eye tests for dds on the 28th and dentists for all 4 children on the 31st!
I don't mind grabbing the appointments no-one else wants

MonkeyRum · 04/11/2024 22:21

Meat sweats mainly.

Spacecrispsnack · 04/11/2024 22:21

Puzzles, books, films walks, snacks. My favourite week of the year by far.

Fink · 04/11/2024 22:22

That's when we do all the Christmassy things, because we keep Advent separate from Christmas and save up the festive activities: ice skating at one of the outdoor venues, panto, making gingerbread, that kind of thing. And get togethers with family.

BondStreet · 04/11/2024 22:32

I love the period after Christmas. The run-up to Christmas is so bloody stressful, I love being able to wake when we like, we eat really well, go on long walks/cycles, play board games and we have lots of people around for food and drinks.

We will likely go on a short city break after new year too.

Thesilkinsideachesnutshell · 04/11/2024 22:41

We visit family. Our parents both live in lovely places so we love getting away.

We'll go on the 27th and come back in the NY. Christmas at home, just us, as parents with other siblings this year. It's all very chilled and easy.

YeahWellWhyNot · 04/11/2024 22:45

Camp out at home. We have 3DC who will this year be 7, 4 and 2. Loads of times to play with all their toys. Loads of good (bad!!) food. Loads of nice drinks in the evening for me and DH. Will visit the parents at some point but otherwise we are closed doors. Pretty much every day is bacon sandwich and onesies day. I love it so much.

Samandytimlucypeterolivia · 04/11/2024 22:47

That’s the week I feel in limbo, like you don’t know if you’re coming or going. I mostly just work, I’ll have the Saturday to my self after work as dd is going to the theatre with DP to see six and I won’t see DS as he will be stuck in his room gaming. I’ll defo be working, 27th, 28th, 30th, 31st.the 27th I’ll check out the M&S sale see what I can get hold of 🙃

InfoSecInTheCity · 04/11/2024 22:52

Booked a cabin with a hot tub for a long weekend away for me DH and DD.

A couple of days of doing not much of anything but somewhere different.

Ellsx6 · 04/11/2024 22:57

We usually have some family over and have some nice food/drinks play board games and relax. This year I'll be 32 weeks pregnant so planning on just pure relaxing as I'm working until 37 weeks :)

Roryno · 04/11/2024 23:06

I work most of it, but prior to having my business I thought that this week between Xmas and New Year is the esssence of Xmas. Just chilled out time with lots of left overs, treats and films on tv. Long walks and fires etc.

pizzaHeart · 05/11/2024 08:55

we always do panto in between and visit local NT attraction if weather is good or cinema if not.
Plus a bit of shopping.

runwithme · 05/11/2024 10:13

I've got it off for the first time in ages. Will drag the kids out once (teens, not interested in Vit D), go for a nice walk somewhere. One day maybe the cinema and dinner with my husband. And lunch with mum, with the kids if they want. Other than that, netflix (Any recommendations?), eating leftovers, gym and walking the dog
