DD obsessed with "naked" cats ... present ideas?!

Ever since we visited a cat cafe earlier this year, my DD has been obsessed with "naked" / hairless cats. One has been at the top of her present list all year.

She is well aware that she won't be getting one, we already have a cat and no desire for another one, but I thought it would be fun to get her something related to them. I've looked for other cat cafes we could visit, but there aren't many near us, and those that I could find didn't have any resident naked cats.

So... a picture? A toy? Another experience of some kind? I'm hoping someone has more inspiration than me for the most randomest of present requests this year.

There is loads of Sphinx merchandise if you Google - T shirts , mugs etc Amazon have a selection . Hansa do a soft toy which is quite expensive and hideously ugly .

Amazing, thank you. It’s helps searching “sphinx” rather than “naked cat” 😆

A peach. And a punnet of mushrooms.

I used to cat sit one. It's skin felt like a warm peach, but he stank of sweaty mushrooms. She needs to know the reality of them!

Have to agree with @queenofthewild , my sister looked into them and they apparently stink , need regular washing and have a very low life expectancy compared with normal cats .

@Floralnomad Wow, 6.8 years. I hate to think what they suffer from before that.

I can only think of this…

There was a thread on here the other day about ‘XL Bully Cats’ which are apparently a hybrid of hairless cats and another breed — many knowledgeable cat fanciers on here were very concerned not only about this new hybrid but also about the health of hairless cats and how they are bred.
Might be worth a read and perhaps show it to your DD?

Get her a raw chicken? Looks the same to me! 😂

If you're rich you could book a cruise on Celebrity Beyond and meet Bug! Or just follow Kate on Tiktok and watch their adventures

You haven't mentioned her age so perhaps not suitable but maybe see if any local rescue centres have any hairless cats and see if DD would be open to volunteering. Even if they don't have hairless, it's a great experience to help care for and fuss the cats.

The only other things I can think of are maybe a jigsaw or craft project, soft toy or modeling clay although I'm struggling to imagine a hairless cat plushie that doesn't involve swimsuit material so perhaps not. Honestly can't come up with many ideas, sorry

Yeah, I'm Team Moggie all the way... love cats but would never consider a hairless breed, some of them do look downright evil. I think it was the sensation of stroking one that she actually loved and it is the feeling... warm peach is about right 😂

Using sphinx as a search I have found a suitably ugly model on Amazon which will have to do!

Try Sphynx for your search!

Is there a Kitty Cafe near you? Which might have a sphinx cat?
