Where do you all order or buy your Christmas turkey from?

For years we've went M&S and yes it is delicious but so expensive and we are trying to really watch the pennies this year.

Thought local would be better but a normal sized crown was going to be expensive too!

Looking at Morrissons, Tesco and Asda next.

Any insight or experiences please?

We always get at least 2 frozen turkeys from Tesco's each year.

We had a £100 plus one from a butcher one year and for some forgotten reason DH ended up in Aldi between Christmas and New Year a picked one up on sale for about £10 and we couldn't tell the difference between the two.

I like to get at least one really large Turkey so I can freeze the white meat for turkey sandwiches for a few months that the children like and the dark meat for turkey leek pies.

For the past 8 years we've been in charge of buying the turkey for our family Christmas. We've purchased it from a local farm shop and each years the costs gone higher and higher, after reading all these comments I'm inclined to get a frozen one next year.

I'm nightshift into Christmas eve finishing at 7am. The shops open at 6am, think it would be ok to just leave the majority of stuff to get after my nightshift? Risky? We have a ham, pigs in blankets and stuffing, but still need all veg and a small/medium turkey crown. There is a Sainsbury's, Lidl and M&S all beside each other.

DH has ordered one from Sainsbury to be picked up on Saturday, we're not even having turkey for Christmas day.

He's going to cook it and carve it and use it for leftovers
