I literally have no ideas at all on what to get him.
He thinks he would like a huffy green machine or a berg gokart. I on other hand think hes too old for these at 12 and hes 5ft 7 🙈.

Hoping for other ideas to sway him with.
I was thinking BMX (tho has a mountain bike)
Mini BMX
Ipad?

He has no real interests apart from back to the future and roblox, and horse riding which he has all he needs for.

This age is so difficult and not long after his birthday

My 13yo DS has ADD and every single year he says he doesn't know what he wants. He says he's already got everything(he definitely hasn't). I suggested airpods but he already has some fake ones that he's happy with so doesn't see the point. He's not really fussed about branded clothing or his appearance. He just likes clothes that are comfy and soft.

The only thing he's asked for is a jellycat avocado as his old non jellycat avocado is falling apart. I'm putting together a hamper of different brands and flavours of chewing gum as he loves it. I'm getting him some freeze dried sweets. I get him a pick n mix tin of lindt every year so he'll be getting one of those plus a junior driving experience gift, some new trainers(probably AF1s again), RAM upgrades for his pc. I got tickets to hot wheels monster jam live glow n fire but it's a joint gift for him and 6yo DS.

Its so hard isnt it. My son will have an interest in something for a few weeks and then will never look at it again. Currently a keyboard his nanny has lent him.

He also has no ideas himself. We are now considering a smart watch. A chewing gum hamper sounds like a great present. We cud actually do a fizzy drink one as he is obsessed 🙈

Mine was obsessed by back to the future at that age.
theyve had
lego
a model hoverboard on the wall
scalextric
the welly collectible cars (the detail is amazing)

we’ve also seen the fantastic musical multiple times.

What about hitting an Asian supermarket (or amazon) for unusual sweets

A horse?(if he doesn't already have one of course)🤭
Horseback archery lessons

Maybe horseback axe-throwing vouchers?

Frozensnow · 20/10/2024 10:15

Is back to the future still on at the west end or has it finished now? Maybe tickets to that if it’s still going

my 12yo ds had snowboarding vouchers at an indoor ski/snowboard place last year. He loved it so this year is getting sallopettes and coat.

mine is also 5 foot 7 and not into toys or books. Absolute nightmare age to buy for! His 9 year old sister is a breeze in comparison!

SplendidPendips · 20/10/2024 13:17

You can also get cool Back to the Future playmobil sets, if you haven't already seem them (and the A Team!).

Bugbeau · 20/10/2024 13:23

If he’s into music at all, my 12 yo boy is keen to get a ukulele for Christmas. He’s played around on my uncles and there are lots of teach yourself videos on YouTube!

Yep, mine is exactly the same. He’s mostly interested in his pc but he already has everything for it. The other year he got really into electronics so we got him an arduino kit plus loads of accessories. He did get lots of use out of it and made loads of things but its all shoved in a drawer now 😂

Edible presents and hampers are great for when they don’t know what they want and means you wont end up with stuff cluttering up the house!

RudolphsDashing · 20/10/2024 18:58

@mummyof2boys30 do a drinks hamper, loads of random ones to be found in little asian supermarkets and places like that!

@Bugbeau I took up the Ukelele a couple of years ago & love it-there's tons of groups everywhere now to play with. Look up gotaukelele for reviews at all prices-great fun altogether

BERG go karts are pretty awesome and the XL and XXL versions are made for kids from 5 or 6 up until adults, as the seats can be adjusted as they grow.

We received awesome feedback from a family whose tall 11 yo son with ASD had about the go kart

Here is an article about the go karts:

Thanks for all the replies, forgot about this thread.
We went shopping at weekend and he picked back to the future funko pops, wants back to the future framed posters amd has decided on a smart watch.

We will also get him the final back to the future playmobil (thanks for the reminder).

We have seen the musical 3 times already. Would love to go back but live a flight away so unfortunately wont be this year. But 12 has defo been the hardest year for ideas
