My daughter would love this!!!

DisruptiveCumin · 12/09/2024 09:36

All my nephew wants for Christmas is lego and we'll might just get him that. Last year my husband got him a poster calendar with Star wars and it was a hit among other bigger gifts. Maybe we'll add the same this year, but with different character(s)

My boy has just turned 7 so we’ve only just dealt with birthday presents, he’s similar to a poster above - he only asks for anything football or Arsenal related. Present hits were a light up globe, a candy grabber machine and a £7 pull out and make paper aeroplane book from Amazon.
I’m now all out of ideas for Christmas so will be following this thread - there can’t be any more (fake) football kits left to buy so I’m stumped!

Dogman books and plushie my DNephew loves, more stocking filler.

@Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain
my little boy loves dog man! He already has lots of their books! If you see a plushie please let me know 😊

This came up in my searches but I think I got a Dog Man plushie which came with the book. It’s one of those characters you wish you’d thought of. I last got him a Cat Man series this year or last year as that was the newest one out according to the book shop I was in.

Mine wants some sort of Bluetooth MP3 to listen to music whilst doing Lego etc. As far as I can tell my options are limited to a yoto mini (which is more than I'd have liked to spend!) I've also bought him a scooter as it was dirt cheap a few weeks ago with a ramp. He hasn't asked for it, but I'm pretty sure he will be happy with it

I think I'd be tempted to get a Bluetooth speaker and a tablet or hand me down phone without a sim.

Or you could use YouTube Music and a Google speaker.

I think anything childish will be very quickly outgrown at the age of 7.

Twilightstarbright · 13/09/2024 20:32

DS is another football mad one. He doesn’t seem to play with toys much and he has so many kits already. Football annuals go down well here.

teatimeplease · 13/09/2024 21:16

My 7 year old has lost interest in toys but there are a few good ideas here, I think he'd love the sweet grabber.

He's football mad so this is what he'll be getting relating to that:

Kits (fake!)
FC25
A new ball
Keeper gloves
Smallest top bin targets, Billy Wingrove style!
Rascal tracksuit (again Billy Wingrove)
I've seen a football mat for skill practice indoors too

His birthday isnt long after Christmas so I tend to buy double and split closer to the time

I've got this for DD, might be good for any bookish boys.

Parker231 · 14/09/2024 10:58

DD and DS were both obsessed with Lego at that age.

Kids Alexa might fit the bill? Or is it something to connect headphones to? Probably the most used gift by my 2DC last year. Usually generously discounted at some point. Audible, Amazon music included with kids membership which I think you get for a year with purchase.

My daughter would love this!!!

They do a sea life exploration one as well, which looks fantastic.

whereaw · 14/09/2024 16:39

@AllBlackEverything have you received it yet? Or does anyone know what it's like? It looks cool but there aren't any product reviews!

PoorUncleBarry · 14/09/2024 17:09

Lego and Bakugan have become popular with mine again. Same age as yours (7 and 8)

No, I haven't actually ordered it yet.. but obviously won't be able to comment what it's like til after Christmas!

There are some reviews on Trustpilot:

uk.trustpilot.com/review/letsexplore.com

And some that are on the makers site (let's explore) but I think they might have pulled those from Trustpilot & Amazon.

whereaw · 14/09/2024 18:32

Thank you! @AllBlackEverything May have to get one too Smile

This looks like a wonderful book, it's now on the list, thanks!

ThePoetInMyHeart · 14/09/2024 21:24

@SlabsBabs It's really great! It has lots of fold-out maps and diagrams, pretend dragon scale samples and a (plastic) jewel for a dragon's eye.

The "spin to survive' books are also really good. We have the "deadly jungle" one but there are a few others too.

I've also just ordered the spin to survive book (jungle) which arrived today, it's a lovely book, great quality. Dragonology arriving tomorrow. Thanks for the recommendations!
