Just because I have literally just recommended one of the top 10 🤣.

I’d give most of these and happily receive most of them as well! The windscreen wipers was a bit of an odd one?

Unless something is deliberately obviously mean (like buying a vegan a stake) I think 'worst' is subjective and you should be careful not to be ungrateful as its never becoming.

For example:

Last year we tried the whole de-cluttering thing and I had a massive toiletries clean out, god rid of about 40 bottle of barely used stuff (and gave away like 5 new unopened box sets of toiletries) since I only ever use the same couple of items.

Then for Xmas right after my IL bought me a pretty Xmas themed toiletry hamper of a brand I never use.

Its funny more than 'offensive' as they meant no harm. Yes I was mildly irritated at having to house like 10 new toiletry things I have no use for but it doesn't mean it was a 'bad' gift in general and I wouldn't tell them, it was just a not a great gift for me at that time. Ironically if not for having specifically put the effort into de-cluttering I wouldn't have even thought twice about it and it would have just got crammed with the others.

Bath cubes and bath pearls -last year, didn't think you could still get them.

MIL bought me a bottle of knock-off perfume from the market because it smelt nice. No problem - I don't mind knock-offs.

But, I wore it liberally to work one day. I'm not sure if it was the perfume combined with sweat or with something else I was wearing on my skin but by the time I got to work it smelled of pure alcohol. I mean it reeked of alcohol. That kind of sickly sweat alcohol smell that comes with an absolute skinful of Bacardi Breezers.

My boss called me into the office and accused me of drinking.
Mortified doesn't even come close.

A fair number of those depend on the context. I am all for practical presents and I may well put a hairdryer, tea towels, apron, electric toothbrush etc on my Christmas list.

However, if someone bought me a hairdryer without me asking for it I would think it was a bit odd - with things like that, if you want one you normally have one already.
