Adult stocking filler ideas - all year round!

Our adult children absolutely refuse not to have Christmas stockings, it wouldn't be Christmas without them apparently. Their main present is either something they've asked for or cash. I try to get a couple of other small gifts I know they'd like as a surprise but stockings are here to stay.
I know people have different approaches to stocking fillers, here are the criteria for ours:

Small enough to fit in a stocking (shop bought type not a sock).
Anywhere from 0 - £5 per gift (£0 could be a perfume/aftershave sample)
Must be practical, fun or consumable to avoid wastage.
Can be pre-owned (eg like-new books from a charity shop).
Usual ideas are foodstuffs, snacks, toiletries, DIY bits n bobs, stationery items. All get used but a bit dull, another reason for not leaving it too late to think of things.

I keep a 'Christmas note' on my phone and note ideas all year round. Generally I won't buy until later in the year, it's the ideas that are difficult. I sometimes pick up on things in conversation and add to the note to buy later (eg DS1's girlfriend mentioned how much she loved a certain chocolate bar - now in the list).
Obviously if I spot something that I probably wouldn't be able to get again - something unique or a real bargain, I will buy when I see them but don't go actively looking. Sometimes they are things I stumble across (I recently bought a trolley coin in aid of a charity one of my DCs supports when there was a stall in a service station).

Just been ordering a couple of slimline European usb adapters to take on holiday (see pic) and have ordered a few extra as stocking fillers. Which is what prompted me to start this thread. By starting early, collecting ideas even if not buying, I think you do so with a clearer mind and end up with better stocking fillers than leaving the thinking til December when there is so much else going on.
Not sure if anyone else will be interested in this thread but just in case, would be good to share ideas or things that you've seen that are not the usual everyday items.

My teen has become matcha obsessed over the holidays. In homesense yesterday they had a lovely pack of mini matcha flavourings for £5 and perfect size for stockings.

Good call, Homesense do some fabulous 'weird and wonderful' foods, last time I was in they had a whole selection of variously flavoured Turkish Delight - lemon, rose, pistachio.. I bought some for those family members who like TD (and me).

It is also worth a trawl for exotic shaped pasta!

The no 7 website https://www.no7beauty.co.uk/ has some great bits in the skin care sale section that would work well in stockings. I just grabbed some great men's products. They have some very bargainous other skincare sets that would make a bigger, more substantial gift or could be split down. The good day range is packed nicely for older teens/young adults. @LoyalAquaAnti haven't but I used them all the time for skincare.usually arrives next day and exactly the same as if I bought on line. Never had an issue but I'll take a look now

I’m keeping an eye on tea, instant coffee and filter coffee offers in the supermarkets - I know they are the hot drink preferences of 4 iof my recipients (2 like tea) to see if I can get a ‘better than usual brand for stockings’. Also keeping an eye on premium jams.

I saw some mini balls of wool that would fit in a stocking. Sirdar Happy Cotton. Ideal for those little crochet animals.

I'm keeping an eye on handheld fans, if it's going to be another hot summer they'll be useful. Both usb and a folding fan.

For the cat lovers, this Oliver Bonas cat origami looks fun - although it’s £3.69 on Amazon! There is a dog one too.

I’ve also stocked up on a few of the small cans of Moth margarita cocktails, they’re often 2 for £7 and a nice size for stockings.

Sorry I’m on a (shopping) roll….rechargeable USB candle lighters are fantastic. I have a bog standard cheap one that doesn’t have a bendy neck, readily available on EBay and Amazon for £5-10. For those who don’t like purchasing on Amazon, here is an expensive bendy neck version as an example, but I’m sure better value are available.

I think these are fabulous stockings fillers but I have absolutley no will power so consumables will have to be bought in December, even though that means usually paying full price. Bargains in August - November are false economy here 😂

I saw chocolate marzipan in Homesense today which is on my stocking list, I wanted to buy it as I rarely shop in person, but thought I best not!

I just bought a pair of personalised chopsticks, can't decide whether to give them to my husband for his birthday or save them to go in his stocking. I have a few gifts stockpiled so just have plenty of choice.

I find the adult men hardest to buy stocking fillers for. DH mentioned a European city he’d like us to visit next year and I found a fairly recent travel guide on eBay, with a pull out map . I know all the info is available online but we quite like to look through a book and plot things on the map.

Sorry I don’t have time to read everything so may have already been suggested. The most popular gift last year with a couple of men was a headtorch.

I think they are super stocking fillers. We had some when we used to camp for finding our way to the loos in the dark but DH used his recently when we lost power and he needed to flip the fuse switch which is in a difficult to get to dark place, kept his hands free.
This is one thread you don’t need to worry about reading fully , it’s long - although I’m going to read it all again to see if there are any ideas I’ve missed in the past.
