Stamp collecting

Can anyone point me in the direction of gifts for someone who's a keen beginner in stamp collecting? They have some stamps and an old album off ebay to store them. Are there any books or other items you could suggest? I say books as they are an avid reader too.

I would suggest finding out what they are collecting. Many people collect stamps with flags, birds, cars etc only. Or people just collect from one country. If they are very early on in collecting then a big bag of stamps would be good. I’m sure there must be books on amazon (or similar) on the categories mentioned. You could also buy a stock book for storing stamps until they are put in the album.

Adult, but doesn't often treat herself! Although I'd put something aside for Christmas I might also give her something now as a pick me up & thank you, she's having a rough time.

A shit load of envelopes?

If they just want general stuff, a nice intro can be to buy another person's stamp collection - lots of families are getting rid of them now that stamps have changed and the younger generation aren't really interested, and they will have older stamps, perhaps from countries that no longer have the same name, etc.

Small scale auction houses often have stamp collections from house clearances. Worth keeping an eye out.
