I've googled and googled but keep getting American sites and I'm still not convinced by the answers as I've tried this so many ways in the past without success so want answers from real people!

I have a 1.3KG lean beef joint for dinner (I know the joint type was the first bad decision!) HOW can I cook it to make it tender? I have a slow cooker, or my usual electric fan oven. For dinner tonight.

Sear on each side.
Roast for 45 mins in tin foil in hot oven
Leave to rest for 45 mins before serving wrapped in a yes towel
That's for medium rare soft ! X

Keep it really rare. Roast it (200deg for 15 minutes and 180 after)to an internal temp of 36 Deg, double wrap in foil and let it rest at least 15 at least per 500g. Carve it across the grain.. even if that means it is at an odd angle.

Slow cooker every time. Much more tender

Seal it then put it in the oven at 90°C for 6 -7hours!
You just about have time to do it!! Make sure it’s well rested before carving.

Thanks everyone, I went for the low and slow method @RendeersDancingTowardsChristmas recommended as I am afraid we are heathens who aren't keen on rare meat 😬 it was lovely and tender thank you! Looking forward to leftovers later today!
