For Christmas dinner tomorrow. My mum told me I can par boil the potatoes and leave them covered, as long as they're dry. Stuffing balls. Cauliflower cheese. Mum said to do the meat but dh insists he wants it done on the day and hot.

The ham is cooking now, the beef will be cooked along with turkey tomorrow.

All veg/sides will be prepped today ready for cooking tomorrow. I like to be organised and relaxed. I cant do stress so make my life as easy as I can.

If I were you OP I would get my veggie dishes prepped and do as others have said keep you bacon/sprouts combo separate. You can parboil your potatoes at least so you are only roasting. You can even par roast if you want to.

Boxing Day will be left overs, buffet style for everyone and then Im back to work the next day, so no turkey for years after hopefully. Xmas Grin

How do you prepare the cauliflower cheese ahead? Parboil cauli, stir in cheese sauce and just refrigerate? Many thanks if anyone answers 🎄

@qwertylal yes exactly that. It will work. Just bung in oven for 30-40 mins to finish

@madroid fab, thank you so much, a few more dirty pans out the way today instead of tomorrow 😁

What will you do with it when it's cooked?

Let it go cold, wrap it in foil and refrigerate. Then slice some, and warm it up when needed, or eat cold in sandwiches.

How do you stop your potatoes going black if you par boil today? We're just doing the red cabbage and Pavlova today, everything else gets done tomorrow

Coating the potatoes in oil stops them going black
