M&S empty shelves ....

Popped to my local M&S at 10am and it's bare
Hardly any nice desserts
Few and far between turkeys
Just loads of empty shelves
Anyone else having problems with M&S?
It's not like it's Christmas Eve you would think things would be stocked up.
Wasn't busy either

There delivery may have been delayed, the storms in some places may have a knock on effect in the food chain. Or they could have under ordered and had nothing left!

I work for M & S and can tell you all the cold chain food is upstairs in the chillers and we just have no one available to put it all out!

That's obviously store specific but it drives me mad to there's stacks of desserts upstairs but no staff due to not having enough people in

Just been to mine and I have to say I was impressed with how much stock they had out. Loads of turkeys and the trimmings and lots of deserts. Maybe a delivery issue.

Some M&S things were missing from my Ocado order today, the nicest sausage rolls and shortbread were out of stock.

I went to my local one about 3pm and every single shelf was fully stocked, no sign of any shortages of anything.

@CherryJones1 I haven’t been in my local store recently, but in the past couple of years it has had fewer and fewer staff in most departments but plenty on Foods. Are they cutting down on food staff, too, or is it just a one-day blip?

DH works at one of their food warehouses. He has been working 12+ hours a day since Tuesday (and his next day off is Christmas Day) filling lorries as fast as they can.
It's a mixture of the laws governing HGV driver hours and customers acting like they did at the start of the pandemic that result in empty shelves.

I wish we could all say where we were, that would be mega helpful, for shelves issues like this! weather, flood warnings, road closure, or RTA’s, escaped prisoners, missing teens etc etc.
Not to give postcodes but general area, ie mine would be Oxford East.

Our local medium sized Waitrose is always understocked, especially if they have a SO on something like meat or frozen fish, the shelves are empty until the price readjusts.
Apart from cards, overpriced decorations and pointsettias, I didn’t really have a Christmas vibe in there on Monday, despite it being very busy. I bought fresh green veg, milk, Tiramisu desserts, cos I enjoy a balanced diet.
We are battling in Oxford M&S Food tomorrow, early, with sharpened elbows, running shoes, oiled trolley.
I hope everyone’s delivery is fulfilled complete, Merry Christmas!

My local M&S was massively stocked up and was crazy busy today. It is a large location though, so many staff working.

Stock plentiful in mine today but I can't tell who's staff or not know they've sacked off the uniforms.

It's not in a big city either
It's a shame as I wanted a few nice bits
Luckily I got the party food a week ago and put it in the freezer so we have that.
I had my eye on the Colin Christmas jumper and the posh profiteroles but haven't seen them
