Sickness

I'm at work. We have over 25% of staff off sick with bad colds, sickness or COVID. I have relatives with bad colds or COVID, luckily we had a sweep of sickness a few weeks ago.

I really don't want to get sick now and have to postpone Christmas as I have been working for weeks to prepare and am due to have the entire family over 2 days, several of whom are old or vulnerable so we wouldn't want them getting anything nasty, cold, flu, norovirus or the dreaded COVID.

Is anyone else crossing every thing they can that they don't get ill and have to change all their hard made plans.

Yes! I’ve had a recurring illness since October and it’s just started to become manageable. DS(5) is still in school until Friday and they held an outdoor Carol service yesterday in the misting rain. So DS and I both got cold and wet. He started coughing last night so I have everything crossed that he’s not about to go down with a cold! As usual DH is fit as a fiddle.

The last 4 Christmases have been a bit of a mess (Norovirus, Covid jab reaction, Covid and last year a green turkey!). I don’t even care about the food etc, just want us all to be well enough to enjoy the day.

Eurgh, this is one of my fears! Though tbh, it's mainly noro I'm worried about.. Luckily(?!), I had it the end of last week and isolated myself so noone else in the house caught it... DC broke up from school on Friday and DH and I are both off work now so we are just steering clear of indoor places 😁 Drove past soft play earlier today and the carpark was rammed, crazy people!!

DC1 does have a cold, cough and slight temperature, and is a bit up and down, but hopefully the worst of that will be out of the way and doesn't infect the rest of us too much!
