Best place to buy reconditioned iPhone?

Reconditioned/factory 2nd etc I'm not sure what the correct term is.

DD's phone is knackered it's a iPhone 12, she's perfectly happy with this model so was hoping to surprise her with the same one for Christmas (or a newer one I suppose if reasonable)

I don't want to be paying one on contract so was looking for a good 2nd hand one. Can anyone suggest the best place to go to?

I know Apple sell reconditioned macs so maybe there.

In our local towns there are multiple shops with a huge range of unlocked reconditioned iPhones, I'd head to one of those so you can actually see the phone.

3rd choice would be eBay.

Music Magpie are good. I've had a couple of phones from them.

I have bought from Argos and Three. They are sometimes just new phones returned because customers don’t like them .

CEX have been good, bought quite a few secondhand electronic items from them.

Backmarket were the best when I searched for my DD iPhone.

I've bought a few things through Backmarket and have been happy with the products and service.

Do you think a 'good' condition would work ok or is it better to go for excellent or like new.

I recently sold my iPhone 13 to Meelie Mobile, and I was very impressed with them. They declined a friend’s phone, due to a small amount of scratches that was missed before sending it off, so they are obviously very thorough.

So, in terms of buying one, I would look at Meelie Mobile, as they are only sell on decent phones.

Are they unlocked?

We get all our phones secondhand from CEX, they're covered for a year & you can choose from different grades of condition. The website is good for filtering options, and if you have a store locally I've always found the stock good and staff really helpful. I have only ever bought B & C grade as the prices so much more reasonable but overall condition still good.

Argos. Had three from them and they were brand new. Quite possibly returns from people who simply changed their minds. On all three occasions the charging cable hadn't even been opened and still had the seal intact.

I've used Amazon Renewed a few times for phones and they've always been good. I pay a bit more for 'excellent' condition and they look brand new with good battery life.

I've been happy with giff gaff, Amazon and music magpie reconditioned items, altho I have a friend who had problems with a music magpie one.

NB the condition headings only refer to cosmetic condition. They're all checked thru and should work perfectly.

I've bought two on Amazon Renewed and both have come with a 1 year warranty. Had no issues at all.
