Hello!
I'm after recommendations please for an omelette maker for a Christmas present. I've seen red copper chef, salter, lake land, asda. They all look quite similar apart from the red copper chef makes one omelette but the others 2.
Please help!

Why is this gadget even a thing? What’s wrong with a pan? Confused

I love my omelette maker! They turn out so fluffy and light and they're easier to clean than using a frying pan.

I got mine from B&M a couple of years ago, only cheap, about £14 from memory. Makes two omelettes.

I use a cast iron pan

I have the Salter one and it’s great. My teenage son can make himself an omelette super easily and I love that they come out cooked to perfection every single time (I reckon this is why an omelette maker is a thing!).

We received the Salter one last year, the one that makes 2 round omlettes not the 2 half ones. Didn't think we'd use it as much as we do. Like pp said, it's easy to clean and you can cook any ingredients in it before adding eggs. It doesn't have a timer but you don't really need one.

Thank you! Good to hear that they're easy to clean as well.

Can I ask, how many eggs can you fit in each side?

I did not know this was a thing! DH loves omelettes in the morning so just bought one for his Christmas. Reviews for the Salter one on Amazon are really good.

FountainofTruth · 15/12/2023 08:30

I use 3 eggs with a little milk to make the two omelettes. Just checked ours is the salter xl (about £28). If I'm honest I find the two enough for 1 person, though I normally serve them with a side salad or breakfast side's.

For anyone interested, I've gone for the salter 4 in 1 snack maker! Removable plates so easier to clean and also makes a number of different snacks not just omelettes.

Thanks all! 😊

Oh was this the one you went for?

I’ve just ordered a waffle maker and am wondering if a multi function thing might have been better.

LemonFrosting · 16/12/2023 09:47

Yes that's the one!

If you are going to buy in from Amazon, just make sure you select the option to hide the packaging as otherwise its just shipped as is (item on full view!)
