Where can I order nice wrapping paper?

I'm so sick of all the 'sludge brown' shades in all the shops. Save The Planet and all that is great, but they're so ugly! What happened to cute colourful patterns? Where have you got the paper for your kids' presents please? I need to order online rather than buying in store.

@BillyNotQuiteNoMates I love this idea for days you've run out!

I got this from Amazon for the children and the quality is fine. I wanted not metallic but not brown!

Costco do amazing wrapping paper, huge rolls, double sided so lots of choice, and super strong.

Aldi had great kids patterns, Grinch and Spider-Man but it’s quite thin.

How about making your own? I’ve got some lovely plain coloured kraft wrapping paper, which I will decorate with ink stamps.

I picked mine up from Morrisons Daily in January in the sale 10p each for huge rolls colourful & good quality . I've not looked for any this year as i had enough already .

What a horrible response to a lovely suggestion.

So base.

I’m obviously a cheapskate as I bought from home bargains. Quality is fine, it’s got a grid printed on the back and it’s cheap. Ticks all the boxes for me

Caspianberg · 19/12/2023 19:26

IKEA.

Are you for real? Who has the time to hand print wrapping paper for it to get torn up?

Well some people might enjoy it. It could also be a relatively economical option.

Thank you RallySooney and Clarinet for defending my suggestion in my absence. I think someone is a little grumpy today.

MyLady, I think your line of thinking could be applied to a number of other talents/crafts. Decorating a cake takes time, but then it is devoured in seconds! You must be ready to blow a gasket when you consider all that time spent on something that will be destroyed in minutes! But, the thing is, it brings the baker/gift giver pleasure to make something look nice, and the person it is given to appreciates how it looks, and the time taken to produce it.

It can be a fun thing to do, and can be very economical. I love personalising my gift wrap for family and friends! I don’t do it for my children’s gifts (due to the amount I would need), but for a small number of gifts I am gifting. Often, it is kept and reused by the recipient.

BillyNotQuiteNoMates · 19/12/2023 22:10

Another suggestion, is to keep your children’s artwork through the year and use that. Personalised and they don’t get upset because it gets binned when your attic is bursting at the seams.

A museum gift shop. And you'd be helping the museum, too.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 20/12/2023 22:14

Coffeeismyfriend1 · 22/12/2023 12:26
