Veggie/ vegan buffet

I usually do canapés Christmas morning and am thinking of a soup Christmas Eve but as that's quite ordinary though flexible wanted something a bit more exciting to go with it.
Any ideas? It can be mixed but the vegan/ veggie harder to provide
Thanks

I am making squash soup and serving it with homemade cheese straws as well as crusty bread, not tried it though!

That sounds nice. Soup works well as everyone can have it and plenty of it. Just not sure is enough?? Maybe do salad??

Make 'sausage' rolls with fancy veggie stuffing rather than sausage meat.
I like savoury scones to have with soup.

I have this tandoori cheesy tear and share bread on my list, which would pair well with many soups and add a lot of substance. But if you want something more low effort, and tray of the part baked rolls in the oven would make me very happy.

I think if I just do soup there is a risk of lots of bread/ cheese as it's not enough.
Chilli - but I do that all the time ...
Curry - not so good for the GC
Sausage rolls or pasties/ samosas maybe ??
Baked Camembert ??

Our family veggies love a baked camembert studded with fresh garlic and rosemary and served with crusty bread.

You could do mini veggie samosas and bhajis with mango chutney and mint raita dips (the soya yoghurt is perfect for this if you want it to be vegan)

Veggie spring rolls or gyoza with a soy, honey and ginger dip

Humous and guacamole with tortilla chips and crudites.

Have you both vegan and veggie to cater for? (Wondering about cheese/dairy?)

My go to special soup is leek and potato - though I’ve never tried to make a vegan version. It’s silky smooth, and very filling.

I’d suggest an egg based canapé (stuffed eggs/vegetarian scotch eggs) and crudités with humous so it’s not all carbs.

Yes mainly vegan. I do a vegan leek and potato soup with oat milk yes if I could team it up with something else would be ok

Onion or Vegetable tarte tatin.

https://www.deliciousmagazine.co.uk/recipes/caramelised-onion-tarte-tatin/amp/ Use olive oil instead of butter for vegans.

Or use a variety of roastable veg alongside the red onion, arrange it nicely (pack the veg in it shrinks in cooking).

Ready made flaky / puff pastry is generally vegan

Also Middle Eastern mezze type things are ideal veggie / vegan buffet. Baba ganoush, hummus, dolmades, felafel.

I am vegan and I would be thrilled with soup, garlic bread (supermarket cheap tends to be vegan, or made from part baked baguettes)
Crudites and nice dips like the sabra baba ganoush and humus (but sat separately from the dairy ones so people don’t drip and ruin it)
A puff pastry tear and share tree filled with vegan pesto (sacla) and tapenade
Coronation chickpeas in wraps or little gem lettuce cups

Linda McCartney sausage rolls cut into three to make canapé size. With a soup - delish!
