Anyone dreading their work Christmas party?

It's all in the title. Looking for some motivation as I am feeling quite deflated about work!

This year none of us can be bothered so we are all driving!

I work with nice people and someone has kindly bothered to organise and pay for us all to go to a party night meal/disco thing, the least I can do is grace them with my cheerful presence and fascinating small talk.

Haven’t gone for 10 years. I’ll attend if they do something small in working hours but won’t for big social events and outside working hours

Meant to be going to mine tonight. I was looking forward to it (& have already paid in full for the meal!). Sadly sent home sick at lunchtime so won't now be going

We are having a buffet and a barn dance for ours! In an actual barn. I can't think of much worse but do have to show my face (unfortunately it's expected due to the role I'm in.)

My plan is to turn up, have a drink and the food and then make a quiet exit when the dancing starts. My work friend has also said it's not her thing so we'll go for a couple of hours and then drive to the nearest pub instead!
