I would appreciate any help for my DD, she's just turned 15 but is a lot younger than her years.

Things she likes:

Roblox - she's a little obsessed and we've had to cut down screen time and stop her buying robux as she was wasting a lot of money on it. I have bought her a little plush of it.

Slime/crafy - Bought her loads over the years but they've just collected dust lately.

Fidget toys - She has so many!

Things she's not interested in:

Make up, haircare, skincare, clothes, shoes, books.

She has a headset for gaming, and and oodie. We've also bought her a smart watch as she is obsessed with times.

Massive fluffy dressing gown? Soft blanket?

Grown up lego?

reluctantbrit · 06/12/2023 17:19

Fluffy blanket and pillow

Weighted blanket

Would she listen to audiobooks?

Clock/DBA radio alarm clock for her room

Anything for her room, fairy lights

DsTTy · 06/12/2023 17:24

A clock showing different times from around the world

Jacfrost · 06/12/2023 17:30

Beanbag gaming chair

TheIsleOfTheLost · 06/12/2023 17:33

The perception that robux is a waste of money seems to be yours, not hers. If you were buying her what she really wanted, it would be that.

I say that as someone who can't stand roblox and won't let my primary age children near it! They will be getting mine coins or pokemon coins though, as that is what they genuinely want. No point in buying physical goods to be ignored.

If you can tempt her away from the screen and have some time to spend with her how about a board game? Carcassonne, Uno or Ticket to Ride London at good and fairly easy 2 player games.

Is she interested in tabletop RPGs? They are very popular among ND teens. The D&D starter kit or the Call of Cthulhu starter kit perhaps. It depends whether she would have other people to play with of course. Or maybe just the D&D players handbook as its fun to read through even if you don't have a chance to play straight away.

ShippingNews · 06/12/2023 18:28

I got my DD one of the adult Lego sets.

muchalover · 06/12/2023 18:31

Ask her.

Get her that.

She might even prefer to know what it is you got her. So she can plan on using it.

Ponderingwindow · 06/12/2023 18:41

Moon pod. Its the best beanbag you could ever buy

Color changing led light strips
light projector
wall light panels
replacement ceiling led light that changes colors
led table lamp
aim for app controlled via the same voice app like Alexa so even if you get products from different companies over time as she adds to the light symphony she can control the same way.

my ASD teenage girl has so many light devices and always wants more. I understand because regular light hurts me too and she has a wonderful glow in there. I’ve started a bit in my own room.

Sunflower8848 · 06/12/2023 18:41

Rubiks cube
science experiment kit
National geographic rock tumbler machine
3d printer

Fionaville · 06/12/2023 19:20

An Alexa show
A squishmallow or snackle
And my kids absolutely love this. It changes colour everytime you open or close it, so very sensory. But it's also a lovely light when left open and has a remote

I asked a very similar question on here and got some great ideas! My daughter is getting a meta quest VR thing, air up bottle, moon lamp and salt lamp, wreck it journal, new minecraft switch game, a heated blanket and some fidget jewellery. I got her some heartless curlers as well, cos even though she could not give a monkeys it’ll stop her hair looking so wild as she hates the hairdryer 😂

Grimbelina · 06/12/2023 19:52

Roblox themed clothes?

... but the loveliest thing is to actually buy her some Robux (even if not that many) as then you are giving her what she really wants.

Do you play Roblox? She might like some homemade vouchers stating chunks of time that you will play with her.

Lovemusic82 · 06/12/2023 20:22

My dd is a couple years older but has ASD, things that have been hits over the last few years…..

marble run
Lego (she gets a set every year)
Theraputty (£10 on Amazon at the moment)
Diamond art
Sketch books and pencils/pens
Book (diary of a wimpy kid mainly)
Rush hour game from Thinkfun
Rubix cube
Bracelet making stuff, beads etc..
Hama beads.

This year she’s getting…

miniature dolls house kit
lego insects
sketch books
Posca pens
oodie

shes also asked for a keyboard and a accordion 😬, she won’t be getting these.

Zebracat · 06/12/2023 20:29

Cooking stuff? At its most basic, a hot chocolate set, or everything you need to make brownies, or a recipe book and the doings for her favourite type of food. My girl got very excited by a small square frying pan last year, and everyone in her student house loved it too. Fostering independence…

BranstonPickleandPeanutButter · 06/12/2023 20:57

14, very nearly 15 year old DD.
Main present is very expensive art pens and art books.
Lots of pins and a pin holder.
Liquid oil thingies you turn around.
Same kind of thing but sand.
Rain noise diffuser.
FNAF plushie.

Scarletttulips · 06/12/2023 20:59

Light up sand art
soft blankets
fluffy socks

BranstonPickleandPeanutButter · 06/12/2023 20:59

(She also loves Lego, but I'm a huge adult Lego addict and we build them together)

sparkedsparkle · 06/12/2023 21:05

Beanbag
Weighted blanket
Oodie type blanket hoodie (they sell a Roblox themed one)
Clock to make yourself (learning resources do one, you can see the dogs when it's made and lasts up to six hours then wind again)
Astronaught galaxy projector
Teepee for her room like a smaller space for her to cool down and relax
Rainmaker instrument ( like a big wooden one)
Skipping rope
Reborn dolls seem to be popular amongst pre teens and teens recently you can even get them looking like an avatar baby or monkey!
LED colour change lights for her room

thedementedelf · 06/12/2023 21:06

Is she sensory? Primark are selling beautiful furry (outside oodie material) bed sheets. I was £24 for a double set. Ds loves them as he's very into soft things.

What about vouchers for Costa/primark/shopping centre so she can choose her own things.

She likes roblox so buy her the vouchers, it's her money to spend as she likes on it. You think it's a waste but she doesn't.
