This may have been done to death but looking for stocking ideas. I’m sure I can’t be the only one needing DH ideas, so hopefully this is useful to others as well!

DH has never had a stocking before, and as a family it’s a new tradition we’re starting this year (though I had them as a child)
We’re a bit skint, but fortunate that there’s nothing we need, so the stocking is just a way to still have something nice to open together. The stocking is all we’ll have off each other so I don’t want it to just be total tat, not sure if that’s realistic though as we were thinking £50 max budget. How much do you normally spend on the stocking?

Please tell me what’s in your DHs stocking this year or previous successes so I can steal your ideas
thank you!

Dh never needs anything.

so far:

  • Mount cleverest card game
  • Endoscope camera for iPhone - he will be pleased to investigate hole in cellar and behind garage we don’t know what’s behind.
  • local made hot sauce
  • lindt chocolate Santa

im thinking some heritage tomato seeds and something else garden related. I saw metal slug tongs which sound just down his street tbh!

I got a Chilly’s style flask from Amazon for £6 on a HotUkDeals offer so I’d suggest keeping an eye on there for bargains.

A head lamp for when he goes into the attic or go the shed at night - surprise hit gift!
bag of chocolate gold coins
turkish delight
wireless headphones (about £12 on Amazon last year and he uses them all the time)
socks
boxers
PJs
Decals for the light bar on PS5 controllers (niche!)
Rum truffles from Charbonnel et walker

Obligatory Lynx Gift Set, disassembled and items individually wrapped (something my mum always did and it's sort of stuck 😂)
Shower steamers
A tin gonk filled with shortbread
Chocolate Coins
Satsuma

HippyChickMama · 06/12/2023 12:31

We do a £50 limit for stockings, I aim for 10-12 items each at £5 or below. This year dh has got:
Socks
Shower gel
Deodorant
Reece's chocolate tree
Cashew nuts (his favourite and one of the few nuts he can eat)
A phone holder armband for running
A cover for the car windscreen (he works an early shift and hates having to scrape the car at 4:30am)
Beard oil
Hand cream
Cheap aftershave spray (I think it's a Firetrap one) which he'll use for work
A Beano comic (a stocking tradition from when he was a child)

In DPs...

A new tie in a print that will mean something to him
Thermal slipper socks
A KG of fizzy sour sweets (his favourites!)
Baileys hot drink stirrers – they're a melty sweet made with Baileys so they melt into your coffee and make it taste of Baileys
Modelling clay and tools
Personalised mug for his fantasy football team
Print of his home town (which he's just moved away from to move in with me!)

peachgreen · 06/12/2023 12:39

Oh and the Broons annual, which we both got as kids!

BrieAndChilli · 06/12/2023 12:41

I have done the following over the years:

chocolate orange (always at the toe of the stocking)
Chalk for climbing
finger strengtheners for climbing (spot a pattern!)
Plastic claw thing for removing mud from hiking shoes/running shoes
key ring
beanie hat with a torch built in
bee first aid keyring
drill dust catcher
tyre tread guage
camp badges for his camp blanket (scout leader)
nice pen
socks
keyboard cleaner/brush set
sugru

Marshmallowtoastie · 06/12/2023 18:06

You can't go wrong

lifesnotaspectatorsport · 06/12/2023 20:39

Don't have a strict budget for stockings and mine is a bit over because of the PJs this year:

  • Xmassy PJs (expensive because tall fit)
  • Wireless charger for iPhone
  • shaving soap
  • socks
  • pants
  • very hot sauce
  • iPhone holder
  • chocolate orange
Howmanysleepsnow · 06/12/2023 21:22

These are a mixture of DH and DS, this and previous years.
Keyboard cleaning putty
Ted lasso funko pop
Socks
bee reviving key ring
Air tag
Astronaut pen (writes under water, upside down etc)
pindaloo
Cinnamon jelly beans
a book
Water bottle
Magnesium bath flakes
