What's everyone's thoughts on these? Thinking of one for my DS who will have just turned two at Christmas. He loves books, loves nursery rhymes and does like TV but I'm wondering will the stories being read to him amuse him?

My now 3 year old got a Yoto for Christmas last year and she was too young for the stories but loved the music cards. In hindsight it would have been a better present for her this year. But she had a 4 year old sister who got the same and her sister adored it!

I don’t want to be the one who if it doesn’t work out you look back and say ‘but someone said they were amazing…’ but ‘they are amazing’

My two year old and four year old each have one (although one box lives in the kitchen and one in their bedroom). They listen to it all the time and there is a good mix of songs and factual ones and you can make your own and stick it in a beanie baby (we have a few like that). Downside is they are expensive and some of the individual tonies are better than others, but they are also really easy to resell at not much less than you bought them for. Some of them stop being made and then you can sell them for more than you bought them for (room on the broom anyone?)

So yes I can highly, highly recommend. Yes it is just a glorified music box but somehow seems to be so much more than that.

Sorry it made it sound like it is just for music when most of the ones they have are stories. It is just the music ones get played a lot (although the national geographic ones my eldest has listened to so many times I could probably write the whole hours worth of them down)
