We (like a lot of people) have to cut back this year, so budget is around £100 per kid
16 year old is having a (2nd hand) steering wheel for gaming £80
15 year old wants paco robanne 1 million (about £50 a bottle)
Is it fair for me to tell him it'll b Le his main gift?

Its totally fair to tell him that it's his main gift and not to expect or look for much more.

I'd also give him the opportunity to change his mind, "Are you sure that's what you want, because budget has it that will be your big gift and their won't be much else"

I'd be inclined to lose the idea of a main gift and buy two gifts at the £50 mark rather than lots of cheap bits.

I like them to have a few bits to open. Will be standard smellies, clothes and a board game to bulk it out
