December 1st box

Does anyone else do this? What’s in yours?

I know some people will think it’s overkill but it’s the one of the traditions I’ve started for my own kids and I love it so much.

Similar to a Christmas Eve box I reckon - Christmas PJs, Christmas jumper, new Christmas themed book, some themed colouring. I’ve got them a mug each this year. And I chuck the advent calendars in too, obviously.

It just makes sense to me to do it on December 1st so they get proper use of the stuff in the run up to Christmas.

Once they stop growing I’m sure I won’t need to do new PJs etc every year but I bloody love getting to choose them for the moment.

Roll on Friday!!

I'm not doing a 1st December box as such. Instead I have a bag of stuff that will come out gradually over the month. On the odd morning (my days off!) there will be something sitting by our cuddly elf (who is not magical!). This includes:

  • a letter to santa book
  • a new tree decoration for the day we put up the tree
  • the happyland christmas set
  • christmas cookie cutters

On 1st December I'm WFH and they're in nursery. I think I'll put their christmas bedding on their beds with a soft toy (recycled from last year). I'm also going to talk DH into getting the stuff out of the loft and putting the outside lights up so they come home to the house all lit up.

Nope, DD1's birthday is 1 Dec. My children are adults now but I'm so so relieved this wasn't a thing then. They got an advent calendar.

I've got dds an advent calendar, new book, lush Santa shower jelly, hot chocolate bomb and marshmallows, new Christmas pjs- matching, they'll roll their eyes at me for that! A photo bauble, Christmas wasgij and a grow your own Christmas tree. They don't believe anymore but I think the elves will visit and bring the gifts. Thinking about it though, I dont actually have a box. The cats have an advent calendar each too.

Don't do Christmas eve boxes though

Aww that sounds lovely OP. We are all very excited for the 1st but unfortunately not a good enough mum to do anything like that!

Bet the kids will love it.

We don’t do Christmas boxs but the Elf’s bring advent calendars on the 1st and every couple of years new PJs, I usually buy big enough sizes to get a couple of years out of them and leave them out to wear after Christmas when they won’t last another year. Our Els also bring gifts throughout December, new hair accessories, activities books basically anything Christmas themed that can be used in the run up to Christmas.
