Any suggestions around experience days for men?

saw someone mentioned a knife making and I thought that was a fab idea. Any other unusual experiences people have bought for their partners?

I bought a trip to the Welsh zip wire for my niece and her partner, they both enjoyed it apparently.

My mum bought my DH a a drifting day in a Nissan which he just did and loved. He also was bought a bread making day at borough market which was excellent - depends what they’re into really?

Oh and if flush - I’ve bought for friends in the past for big birthdays and weddings a day at the Ginstitute

Tank driving and backstage tour

Isn’t it going to depend what they like? DH would like a breadmaking course with a good baking teacher, but would think someone had lost their mind if they bought him a tank driving ‘experience’. One male friend had a ball at some weapon-making event, another likes endurance sports so liked a cold water diving course. There’s no generic Man Interest.

Off the top of my head:
Clay pigeon shooting
Snow dome
Butchery lesson
Surf lesson at The Wave
Tour of a relevant sports stadium
Brewery or distillery tour or beer / wine / whiskey tasting.

Obviously depends on whether or not recipient a meat-eater who enjoys bbq, but a voucher for a workshop at the London Barbecue School went down really well.

And my elderly Uncle, who struggles with his hearing in busy crowds, thought an out-of-hours small group guided tour at the British Museum (Ancient Egypt, IIRC) was wonderful.

Flying lesson is what mine would like...

Dowhadiddydiddydum · 14/11/2023 14:29

Ah fab suggestions. Thank you all, some useful ideas there.

Ive previous bought him a few car/flying type experiences and he has enjoyed them, but was wondering if there are some more random things available out there as it’s nice to be surprised by something unexpected.

Hmm, the ones I've bought for DH have all been quite generic 'blokey' really - driving/ track day, brewery tour and clay pigeon shooting. All went down very well.

I was looking at sea fishing ones for him for his last birthday, ended up doing something else but keeping that in my back pocket for another time.

I've seen blacksmithing ones - wouldn't be for my DH I don't think but others would enjoy.

I've also seen crime scene investigation themed ones.

A dark sky/ stargazing one would be really cool too.

Dowhadiddydiddydum · 14/11/2023 14:43

Ooo star gazing is a great idea!! I like that.

Wouldn't suit my DH but I've seen a few posts on FB about being a zoo keeper for a day.

I've also seen people do a vineyard tour with wine tasting (uk).

Gin making

Pottery workshop - using a potters wheel
