Help me with nut roast!

I love stuffing so I think that in theory I should love nut roast too. I've tried a couple of ready made including M&S but can't find one I like. Too fruity I think. I'm happy to have a go at making my own if the shop bought aren't all that.

Any recommendations please?

inspired/reminded by this thread I made it tonight. I added mushrooms in with the onions 🧅 used blender rather than chopping everything.

Just have to stop DH scoffing the lot so I can have it for lunch next week.

Oh and I meant to say i have done for Christmas for vegetarians and it goes down well.

Enjoy @Trictoria!

Fruity nut load - yuck! I just pick a recipe off the net and make that. Simple and delicious.

I think this will be the year I do my own nut roast instead of buying a pre-made one. I've bookmarked the BOSH! one - I feel like the root veg in it will give it some body.

@PaperBlinds @FictionalCharacter Thank you both I'll let you know how I get on with this one.

I didn't realise it can be frozen either so that's a game changer too!

DH has just taken some out of the freezer for tomorrow!
I just checked and my Cranks book is from 1982 reprinted 1986. I think it must have been 1986 when I bought it. It was £3.95 which was a fair amount for a paperback back then.
It’s really good that Cranks have put some recipes online.
Some of my old cookery books are the best!

@PaperBlinds it took me a while to get round to it but I finally made the cranks nut roast today!

It's so tasty, much better than those fruity ones. I might have added a bit too much Marmite because it was a bit salty but I'd definitely make it again with less salt. I've already eaten a third of it since this morning! Grin

Thanks for the recommendation!

@FictionalCharacter sorry meant to include you as well.

I'm going to try some of the others on here too. But it might take me a while to get around to it!

Just seen this! So glad you enjoyed it - judging the marmite is tricky. It's totally more-ish.
