The £10 big bottle of Baileys has started at Sainsbury's. The one I bought this morning isn't lasting until Christmas, is it?🤔

I was going to jump on the wax burner bandwagon for my 2 DS teachers but now I'm confused what to do. Ds1 has a main teacher then an assistant for reading (I'm not sure of any others but there could be more) ds2 has a nursery teacher and 4 assistants working on different days. I don't know whether to buy one big thing or multiple small things. There's also a chance that the assistants won't be in on the day the gifts are taken in so they would just end up being handed out I guess. I did buy 5 X hand cream sets in recent boots sale but now I'm confused how to use them 😕 as I think it might be mean to give the main teachers a bigger gift (like the burners) than the assistants (who probably do a lot of grunt work!)

Wwyd?

The best way to do this is to group together with other parents. Then you either do a small gift plus cards with vouchers in or a hamper. With the hamper one parent provides an empty hamper and other parents puts something in. Then you hand it over and ask it to be shared with everyone involved with the class. That way they can pick out things they would like.

I always buy separately. So last year we had 4 workers in her room so I bought them all a £10 costa voucher each. I don't think group presents for groups of colleagues works unless it is something generic like biscuits. I usually just hand a tub of celebrations for everyone in the place (office staff etc) in addition to separate presents.

chocolatepudandchocolatesauce · 09/11/2023 13:59

You shouldn't post blue light codes on here (or any other deals website/thread). The single use ones are linked to your account so if lots of people try it they will know who posted it, and the generic ones will just end up in that company no longer offering discounts.
PM them if needed but don't share to everyone!

Annahh · 09/11/2023 14:35

Do the kids versions (animals) of Alexa ever drop in price does anyone know?

Thank you.

FireandBrimstone · 09/11/2023 14:39

Where is the best place to buy console games, that results in something physical to wrap up? (Even if the game itself is just accessed via a download code in the case?)

Amazonmulu · 09/11/2023 14:42

Can anyone suggest the best place to buy (cheaper) sylvanian families thing?

Dd wants some characters and sets and the prices for what they actually are are eye watering.

Karlkennedyslovechild · 09/11/2023 14:52

Yes the kids Alexa’s definitely drop. We bought them last year. You can set up a camelcamelcamel alert but I reckon black friday is your best bet

Member212711 · 09/11/2023 14:52

@Amazonmulu I've found Vinted and Facebook Marketplace my friend for things like this. Even ebay.

Karlkennedyslovechild · 09/11/2023 14:56

@Tiredsince2007 the football kits recommended on one of the previous posts was https://fanfootyshirts.com/

I’ve ordered for DS but not arrived yet.

Fanfootyshirts

We create custom Football Kits . No minimum orders

Their clementine gin liquer is also on at a tenner on Nectar Prices and is a beautiful bottle - I've attached a pic. (I got it for nowt as I'm a tester 😁) Would make a nice gift I reckon.

On the NSPCC website you can create free letters from Santa. We did them last year & they're great. They post them out too.
Obviously you can make a donation to the charity.

IggyAce · 09/11/2023 15:02

@Trumpton you could try world of books. Also there is Barter books in Alnwick (massive second hand book store)I don’t know if they sell online but you could try calling to see if they have it.

mogtheexcellent · 09/11/2023 15:18

@Trumpton

As an alternative I devoured the three ballet books by Jean Richardson when I was 11. The First Step, Dancer in the Wings and One Foot on the ground.

That's why I bought two bottles!

Mountain Warehouse has up to 50% off sale items and free delivery on orders sold and shipped by Mountain Warehouse. There were some Dryrobe type coats at 50% off when I looked.

Sephora has 20% off Sol de Janeiro (other offers as well but I know Sol de Janeiro is popular this year)

And an extra 20% off Mountain Warehouse with code MWAW66

ChristmasCrumpet · 09/11/2023 15:57

poignant · 09/11/2023 15:20

I have a glass of baileys in front of the fire as I wrap. We have (too many) children and several others to buy for, therefore this takes many sessions, so I buy a separate bottle of "wrapping Baileys"

My quest to find the mint chocolate orange has failed today, maybe there’s a shortage here. I am visiting dd at uni tomorrow so will try a few places near her.

Also on the hunt for some nice advent calendars, something a bit nicer than your average chocolate advent calendar, maybe posh chocolates/truffles or similar? 🤔, I might have to check the big farm shop on the way home tomorrow as I quite fancy the ‘Monty Bojangles’ one built haven’t seen it for sale anywhere.

Dee1224 · 09/11/2023 16:28

Hi, Asda had the Gruffalo book advent calendar for £10 yesterday.

Re: Oodies - I think it was some Oodies from TrueFace via Amazon that arrived dirty and some had upside down patterns. My plain pink one from 5poundstuff definitely had a chemical smell, (that came out after washing), but was spotless.

I will be interested to discover if my Oodie from the actual company will have the same smell…

Dee1224 · 09/11/2023 16:30

Asda’s Xmas jumpers look lovely, btw. I have enough Xmas jumpers to wear a different one for two weeks straight so am restraining my.

I've found mint but can't find popping candy! 🤣

Notlongnow1 · 09/11/2023 16:39

@Jedstre I have bought bits for my husband and myself and have found them a generous fit, but comfortably so. If between sizes, I'd lean to the lower one but we've been happy enough with the fit of them to have just ordered more for us both!
If anyone else wants to use my referral code, im happy to keep ordering 🤣
