We love Uno grabalo and double not board games but quick and easy

Icantbelieveitsnot · 06/11/2023 14:16

Blockus is a favourite in our house and quick and simple to play.

Mouse Trap

SalmonWellington · 06/11/2023 14:18

Hoot Owl Hoot, Max the Cat, Race to the Treasure, Mermaid Island, Dinosaur Escape. All cooperative so less rowing.

Bohnanza (spelling?). It's a game where you trade bean cards.
Moo is a card game with cows.
Ticket to Ride would probably be playable by 4-7 year olds, although they might need some help with some of it until they get the idea.
I think Carcassonne could work as well (I'd probably not do it with expansions yet, though), depending on the child.

It's a bit tricky with that age group as they're a bit too young for a lot of the more interesting games.

Dobble is our fave and younger kids always beat adults in my experience. My teenagers love it too though and get right into it when we play.

Orchard Toys Dino-Snore-Us

Longwhiskers · 06/11/2023 14:46

Funny Bunny
Headbanz

both been a hit with my kids at that age. Also ‘I saw it first’ jungle and ocean editions and the ones like bird/ocean bingo.

Anything by orchard games.

Awumminnscotland · 06/11/2023 14:47

Outfoxed is still a favourite here. It's great and it's cooperative too so good skills for young ones.

YikYok · 06/11/2023 14:48

Curtainpoles · 06/11/2023 14:49

Another vote for Dobble! Great game.
At that age my kids also liked Pop to the Shops, Uno, Monopoly junior.

momtoboys · 06/11/2023 14:50

My kids loved Trouble

AuntieMarys · 06/11/2023 14:50

My five year old loves My First Carcassonne, and there’s a nice collaborative game called Outfoxed she enjoys. She doesn’t have the attention span for ticket to ride. Dobble, but also (these are also - or were - round card games also in tins) Silly Safari and Lift Off.

My two used to like playing the Orchard Toys Shopping List games and so on that you get in small toy shops at that age.

Also card games like Top Trumps and so on. Snap, Rummy, Go Fish, Happy Families.

Any Orchard games, Hungry Hippos, KerPlunk, Pop Up Pirates, Frustration, Operation all big hits with DD(4) and her older cousins. I wouldn't try Guess Who til about 6, though, as 4 years olds can't really grasp that one.

Flubadubba · 06/11/2023 19:08

The game where you have to stuff things into giant pants was a huge hit with our whole extended family last year

Mynewnameis · 06/11/2023 19:11

My kids liked orchard games like llamas in pajamas or giraffes I'm scarfs. Now progressed to dobble, top trumps, uno, genius star

wouldthatbeworse · 06/11/2023 20:22

Outfoxed!

ShortColdandGrey · 06/11/2023 20:35

Taco cat goat cheese pizza. It is a card game, but my daughter and her cousins love it. They are 6/7 years old.

Flockynocky · 06/11/2023 20:46

Labyrinth is fun for kids and grown ups and rules can be adapted for younger children

Toughsteak · 06/11/2023 20:46

Snakes and ladders, helps with number recognition up to 100 and teaches good sportsmanship

Fudgeandcaramel · 06/11/2023 20:50

Rat a tat cat
exploding kittens (more for 7 than 4)
