Santa's workshop toy

4 year old DS has asked for a toy of Santa's workshop with elves, reindeer etc. The Playmobil set looks perfect but I'm reluctant to spend £50 on something that I'm not convinced will actually be played with much after Christmas has gone.

Has anyone seen any good alternatives? I'm not keen on Lego/Duplo as it will just get broken up and pieces mixed in with everything else we have!

Would the playmobil Santa's workshop advent calander be any good? It's under £20. We gifted dgd 7 the playmobil mermaid bath advent last Christmas day and she loved opening the doors christmas day.

Thanks, that might be a good option, does it have anything for the actual workshop bit as I think he wants some sort of building to play with as well as the figures?
