No .

plumtreebroke · 02/11/2023 21:13

No, but we do have a Christmas tree so covered with years of decorations it could sink through the floor. We have a bit of a tradition of buying a few more bits every year, definitely not co-ordinated but very bright.

Cherryrainbow · 02/11/2023 21:20

We put a few cute kiddy decorations in the kids rooms x

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 02/11/2023 21:38

Yes every room. I'm very sad but I have an old house and it's made for this time of year. Aside from the usual stuff, Xmas bedding, Xmas toiletries, greenery, crockery, wall pictures. I even have my eye on a vintage Christmas clock but it's too far to collect unfortunately!

Minttee · 03/11/2023 09:10

What do you have in your other rooms other than the room your Christmas tree is in?

OMGitsnotgood · 03/11/2023 09:19

I buy at least one new decoration a year. That means over time we have more than we need for the lounge and dining room, which are our main focus for decorations. I put a couple of things in the bathroom, downstairs toilet and hall (bauble tree or Christmas figures (Santa/Snowman/ reindeer etc)
In the kitchen I usually have a Poinsettia or similar and candles, maybe some holly/ivy arrangements if I have time.
I think 'less is more' - just a couple of tasteful things in each room. Don't do anything in bedrooms although when the children were small, we sometimes made paper chains for their rooms

I have a stufffed stand-up reindeer holding a welcome sign in the entrance (gift from a client).

A wreath for the door.

Our advent calendar is a string of 25 stockings, each big enough to hold a full-size chocolate bar, that is hung across the living room/dining room walls.

A Knitivity that lives on the sideboard.

Christmas tree in the living room.

I framed some 1930s/40s Christmas postcards which hang in the bedroom. They might be my favourite things!

DAS was given a set of skating polar bears crockery when he was born, so they come out at Christmas, little mug for hot chocolate.

Nothing in the kitchen or bathroom. Nothing outside.

I used to have LOADS of nicknacks around, but it took two days to get everything out and became more of a hassle. For example, I have a a ´Santa´s washing line´of little felt clothes of FC, Mrs FC and green for elf clothes (socks, pants, hats, trousers, jacket or dress + tights etc), that I hung in the bathrooom across the window with mini pegs. I made it myself. Who knows, I might put it up again if the mood takes me this year.

The Tree has bits and bobs from all over and it´s added to each year. I´ll buy or make something to commemorate the year (this year something Madrid-themed as we went there on holiday), last year a felt banana to remember a week spent larking about in a pool with inflatables, the banana was the most popular!

I tend to do the mantelpieces in the sitting room, tv room and study. The staircase. There’s a tree in the sitting room and sunroom. The TV room gets led candles on shelves and I fill large glass vases with strings of light and Holly. I put Holly and berries in jugs and vases around the place with lights through them and scented candles in a few rooms. The kitchen gets a big LED reindeer😂, christmas tea towels, garland above the Aga and Christmas Aga pads. I bought Christmas scented hand soap for kitchen and downstairs bathroom this year😳 And I’m ashamed to say it but I’ve bought mugs and stuff to do a hot chocolate and marshmallow area on a kitchen sideboard this year.

Oh god, firstly my post sounds fake. And secondly I’m a total Christmas dick.

MistyGreenAndBlue · 03/11/2023 11:38

I decorate the sitting room, dining room, hallway and stairs and the front porch. I once put up lights in the kitchen too. 😁
Never do the loos or bedrooms though. Can't see the point.

3 trees minimum. Sometimes 4 - if I feel like popping one in the porch - and I decorate outside. I have 3 lovely 4ft angels with trumpets on the front lawn.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 04/11/2023 05:56

I live in a little house (I love it). I have a wreath on the front door, a Christmas tree in the living room, plus some Christmassy candles, and I also have a small table top tree that I either put in the kitchen/dinner, or in the spare room for guests.

MintJulia · 04/11/2023 06:18

No, I do the front door, the hallway, the sitting room and ds' bedroom (after he's asleep on xmas eve 😊).

Plus a little xmas tree on the kitchen table.

Chickenpoxhelp · 04/11/2023 06:23

I do every room downstairs. A real tree in the living room, fake in the toy room, twig tree in the kitchen along with other small decorations, gold 30cm tree in downstairs loo, Christmas towels and soap dispenser, wreath in the hall, lights outside. I have Christmas bedding this year for the first time.

ShowOfHands · 04/11/2023 06:27

I have decorations in every room, including the downstairs shower room.

Nonplusultra · 04/11/2023 08:27

I was going to say no, until I wrote out my post and realised that the answer is almost yes

I put garlands with lights in the windows of all the rooms at the front of the house.
In the living room we have the tree, and a big mantle wreath.
In the hall there’s a nativity scene.
In the kitchen we have garlands over the cupboards and we use table cloths and Christmas dishes throughout the Christmas holidays.

I don’t decorate bedrooms (except the ones at the front with garlands on the window) but we do change over to brushed cotton bedding this time of year and an extra blanket. The dc sometimes help themselves to some lights and tinsel for their bedrooms.

Nothing at all in the bathrooms.

LimboNovember · 04/11/2023 08:31

Has absolutely I want everything xmassy and there is nothing to apologise for.
Stuff in kitchen, hall ways, stairs, bathroom bedrooms... Living room etc
