Festive Outfits

I know there's a Style & Beauty section but I would love to hear ideas for what you are planning to wear for various festive activities/outings for inspiration!

Some stuff I am thinking about:

-Team Xmas meal - will be fairly casual so planning on wearing this black knit dress with black heeled boots

-Xmas Eve - metallic rose gold top, velvet leggings

I also just bought this M&S jumper dress which is lovely and soft but think it would be too warm for a night out but maybe good for a daytime thing

Thank you @OMGitsnotgood I definitely don't have the models' figures but the black knit dress is really flattering and forgiving! The blue velvet one... not so much haha! I feel like I might need to save that one for next year in the hope it fits me as the way I'm comfort eating my way through autumn I am most definitely not going to be able to get it on 😆

Ive just bought this. Nowhere to wear it. I love it though.

Hopefully my other half will have a posh Xmas do to take me to otherwise it will be getting worn on the sly when I'm in on my own

I've just purchased this dress for my work xmas do- it's very classy and elegant, paired with these sparkly shoes, and a matching bag which was £3 from a charity shop (love a bargain!)

I have nothing to link to. As most of my Christmas sparkle is years old. I did buy a new Christmas jumper from lipsy at next.

I'm with @Mouldyfoodhelp on this one, I was just wondering if I should buy a second pair of festive PJs for when my xmas sprouts ones are in the wash!
I'm not going to the office xmas party because I have nothing to wear and also don't like most of my colleagues enough to waste a Friday night with them and anything I do with family with be casual, we aren't the sort for gladrags!

I don’t need to buy new outfits for this year as the ones I got last year will do:-

Next pleated skirt gunmetal v neck dress midi
next rainbow sequin long sleeve top
top shop rainbow sequin knee length skirt
benetton short wool blend skirt with pink and gold wide waistband
Zara Fine pleated (bit like Miyake pleats please) knee length skirt
Whistles black sparkle sweater
Massimo Dutti sort of pewter gray open knit top/knit
Frank usher sequin bows short sleeve top

Footwear:-

John Lewis flat black shoes with diamanté buckle
Oliver Bonas silver grey ankle boots
Next knee length black fringed suede boots

All the above I can easily mix and match and wear on different days/nights out.

It’s such a relief with the separate items that I can if I want to buy more, but I can also wear what I’ve got.

@vernatheraven that is a beautiful dress! Could definitely be a posh Xmas eve drinks and nibbles hosting dress. I hope you get an occasion to wear it!

@TremendousTurnip I love that black dress and shoes combo it will look amazing for a Xmas do! It's definitely classy and festive and looks like it would be comfortable as well

@Mouldyfoodhelp and @NotFastButFurious your comfy outfits are also lovely! Comfort is key over xmas for sure! Asos had some nice festive PJs including shorts sets, i usually feel too hot in full PJs but definitely like them to lounge in!

@dottydoglover & @alwaysthinkingaboutfood31 amazing! Let me know what you think of the dresses dotty! I really need to try the velvet one on cos if it doesn't fit which I highly suspect it won't I need to raid my wardrobe again!

@GonnaGetGoingReturns love all your options! I have also pared down my wardrobe this year and trying to make sure stuff I buy matches what I already have, it definitely is easier! I love a nice skirt in winter as well with tights and boots and you sound like you have lots of lovely options

Wow that's alot of dressing up....a bit envious

I do need to look at my other sequin tops which I think are a bit big (another Frank Usher one!) and decide if they should go.

I think I might go for a shorter dress like yours OP.

Absolutely love that blue velvet dress - I’d buy it if I had an occasion to wear it for!

I had loads on last year with work dos, social events etc so I’m quite glad this year is quieter! We do have a Christmas wedding to go to though. I bought this dress ages ago and I can’t wait to wear it, it’s so flattering. Planning to go full-on festive with gold heels and a gold clutch (which I still need to find).

Asda have their velvet jumpsuits back this year. Mine last year got more compliments than any other outfit I've worn at Christmas. I bought the black one wore it with long pearls to a party, silver jewellery to the pub and red sparkly stuff on Christmas day. Super flattering and easy to get out of when you need the loo.
I'm buying other colours this year!

I'm not going anywhere particularly fancy and can't justify anything new.

I bought a dark green sequin skirt on Vinted and I can't make up my mind if it's lovely and Christmassy, or too much. If I wear that it will be with a thin black jumper and chunky flat boots, to tone it down a bit.

My safer Christmas evening outfit is black pleather trousers and a black sequin top.

I've got black wide leg trousers and a soft grey fitted jumper with little sparkles that I'll probably wear on Christmas Day.

You are organised, OP. I love all your outfits, we have similar taste! Sadly I'm not doing much for Christmas. My work 'do' is a buffet lunch on a work day, no opportunity to change for it, so I'll be wearing whatever I wear to work that day.

I do need to find something to wear for both the days I'm 'entertaining ' at home. I'm cooking Christmas dinner twice (on different days) over Christmas. I don't celebrate New Year at all.
