Oodies? Worth the money?

We have fake oodies but they don’t seem to last very long, DD’s is from primark and mines from dunelm, both have holes in them/stitching come undone etc..

I hate buying things that don’t last (not good for the environment) so I’m happy to pay a bit more money if it’s going to last a few year. Are the real oodies worth the money? I know some are £39 at the moment so I’m tempted to buy one for dd2 and me for Christmas.

Mine is fake and some stitching went but was easily fixed with a needle and thread. If you have some already then I wouldn't replace them, much more environmentally friendly to repair what you already have.

DC still wear theirs constantly in the winter, I think 3 years old now, bought on sale though. For a gift, having "a real one" is kinda nice, and £39 feels like a reasonable premium to pay for longevity and "fancy gift" uplift!

Environmentally, theyre made of fleece so must shed micro plastics when washed, and dont fit in a guppy bag...

I don't wash mine often, it's worn over top, bottoms, and jumper so doesn't need it.

Definitely worth it

We will be keeping the old ones for when the new ones are in the wash so won’t be throwing them away.

So I asked DD1, 17, which she preferred Oodie or Tesco’s equiv? Oodie wins, it’s thicker!

We've all got the Kuddly ones. They are amazing & are washed frequently without loosing any of their fluffiness. Definitely recommend them

My parents got me one for Christmas last year and it’s great!! Dp got a fake one as he loved mine and kept borrowing it 🙈😂 It gets really cold in our house and it does a pretty good job at keeping me warm 😋 My parents are getting us both one for Christmas this year so that dp will have a real one and I’ll have one when the other one is in the wash 😝

We have an oodie, two kuddly ones ( there was an offer last year when they had 4 for £99) and a cheap primark one. They all get used regularly. The more expensive ones can be too hot. I haven’t noticed a huge difference between oodie and kuddly tbh. The primark one is considerably thinner but still is worn when it’s not as cold.

£39 is an excellent price for the real deal and they come beautifully packaged. They make a lovely gift.

I had a kuddly one, the black one that's two layers of Sherpa, it's a lovely hoodie but a bit too warm for me, I gave it to my mum who really feels the cold and she loves it. I do have the kuddly weighted blanket and love it.
