Hot wheels or normal?

I think DS 5 would like some kind of car garage. Should I try to get a hot wheels one that does races and fancy stuff, but might break easily, or just a basic play garage maybe with a lift and some ramps? I think he'd be happy with either as he doesn't know he's getting one.

Obviously everyone's different but at 5 I would go with hot wheels. My son is 3 and is just starting to get bored of the basic garages (he is vehicle obsessed though so has been playing with this sort of thing since he was around 14 months)

When DS was that age, I always going that hot wheels garages were quite flimsy. Could you get a 'better' garage, and some hot wheels to go in it?

Ds is 4.5 and is really getting into Hot Wheels as his older siblings play with it. He has collected the cars for a while. However, some of the Hit Wheels garages & sets are fiddly and older Ds didn’t get into them until 6/7. The basic garage is ok and you can add track to the bottom. I’ve just taken Ds’s wooden garage to the charity shop as he grew out of it.

Ok thank you, I will look into hot wheels. Lots of people near me on marketplace seem to be selling the shark loop one. It makes me suspicious that it doesn't work properly though!!

We have the dinosaur one and some of loop ones and they are fiddly and a faff. The simple stunt sets and garage are well played with though.

Buy the hot wheels ones second hand - plenty of them knocking around. I got the dinosaur one (brilliant), the ultimate garage and the monster t rex arena one all for £30. Don't buy new it's a rip off.

Oh that's a bargain!! I'll look for second hand
