Inspired by the Nigel Slater thread I've downloaded Christmas Chronicles and am making a list of nice, quality things to enjoy over the festive period, with the plan to buy a little each week and spread the cost.

I'm aware I'm likely kidding myself on about my cooking capability as well as time available to make my own mince pies but so far I have:

Marzipan
Ginger crystallised and syrup
Sultanas
Brandy
Pedro ximenez sherry
Posh candle
Blue cheese
Quince jelly

Looking for further inspiration, what are you planning for your Christmas cupboard?

Packets of raw gingerbread dough from IKEA, which I eat little by little waaaay before Christmas.
Cherries in Kirsch.
After eight mints.
I'm easily pleased 😄

Aldi Christmas Tree Brioche or whatever shape it is this year.

Stollen

Walnuts in their shell

Sugared Almonds

After Eights

Mince Pies from local independent bakers.

Quality Steet Tub (yes I know, but Christmas isn't Christmas without them! - nostalgia)

Baileys
Warninks Avocat
Disarano

I love Christmas pudding but I can only ever manage a little as its so rich and heavy so tends to go to waste. Will miss the traditional flaming entrance though.

In the early stages of making my cake, fruit soaking in Lidl Amaretto for the next week. I have all ingredients but need to add pre rolled Marzipan and icing to the list.

Far too much junk really 😬
