Christmas themed book for 9 year old

Each year we read Christmasy books together in the run up to Christmas and I am looking for some new ideas. For info his favourite books are Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Skandar and the Unicorn Thief. But he’s loves things like Charlottes Web. Any ideas?

We we’re too old for Dogga’s Christmas but I’m sure that would have been a winner when he was little too

The Dark is Rising sequence by Susan Cooper, starts with Over Sea Under Stone, then you can read The Dark is Rising on the right days through December.

I'm thinking of getting The Dark Is Rising to read to my 10 year old this year, it's often recommended on these threads. But can't personally recommend as we've not read it yet!

The Dark is Rising is always the best recommendation!! In nearly all circumstances 😀

I was surprised by how good Tinsel -The girls who invented Christmas was a couple of Christmases ago and mine enjoyed A Christmas Carol more than I expected too.

There is now a 4th book in the Christmasaurus series - it was released this month I think - it’s called A Christmasaurus Carol.

Going to look into The Dark is Rising

oh great topic! My 9yr old likes all the christmasaurus books (got newest for elf to bring Dec 1st). Last year we also got the Ben Miller Christmas elf series and think 3rd one is out of that also. It’s a fun story and the books look cute as hardback but smaller sizes - elf brought that last year as looked the part!

also going to check out Dark Rising too … I’m a sheep
