Reborn dolls

Hi all
DD7 has requested a reborn doll - she has specified that she wants one that looks just like a real baby. I know you can get very realistic ones for £150+, our budget is more like £50.
Does anyone have any recommendations of a realistic looking reborn doll, newborn sized, for more around this price?
Thank you!

EBay?? Our kids get second hand as things like this are often gently used

Hibernatalie · 27/10/2023 15:24

Yes possibly. Will also check Vinted - thing is you don't really know if they're decent until they arrive. So if anyone knows a specific shop or brand they can vouch for that would be appreciated too!

Following with interest, DD has also asked for one. I actually got one from Temu already which after the discounts cost £13, also ordered outfits in the same order and bottles for this price, madness! It's lifelike enough and quality is okay, it's just not weighted like the ones her friend has.

Hibernatalie · 27/10/2023 15:37

@mamamilkmachine that's very interesting - I have seen them on Temu. Just wasn't sure about quality. The most important thing for her seems to be that they are life like. She has one I got from Facebook marketplace super cheap but it is tiny, so a small newborn size as well.

@Hibernatalie I'm out of the moment but can get a picture for you later next to something for size comparison if you like?

That would be amazing! Thank you!

The Tiny Treasures dolls from Argos are adorable.
Similar to "reborn dolls" but more actual toy like. They are lovely and you can get cute outfits for them.
Much nicer for a 7 year old.

Argos tiny treasures dolls.
They aren't reborns but they are very good. Sometimes Argos has them on the shop floor, if not I'm sure you can ask.

Keeping my eyes as Dd also wants a reborn. And it will have to be as realistic as possible with her.

Hibernatalie · 27/10/2023 16:35

Yes mine wants one that looks like an actual baby rather than a toy

DD has also asked for a fake pregnant belly, but that might have to be a no because I can’t find one that fits children sadly😥.

Needmorelego · 27/10/2023 16:40

@Hibernatalie this isn't the best photo but this is one of my daughter's several Tiny Treasures dolls. They are newborn baby size. The babygrow this one is wearing is a "real" one bought from Asda or Sainsbury's (newborn size).

mamamilkmachine · 27/10/2023 16:41

So this is the one I ordered, I added it to my basket and left it for a while, then a promotion popped up and reduced the price to the £13 that I mentioned earlier. I will get a picture of what I received for you later on.

Haha that's exactly the kind of thing my dd would want! No idea where she gets it from

That does look good.
Thanks for taking the time to post a pic.

They’re not reborns, but I think the Spanish brand Llorens dolls are absolutely adorable and really high quality and lifelike and are more your sort of budget. They have toddler ones which my niece has been delighted with as those as her preference but also baby ones which look very realistic to me.

Currently considering this weird little thing - have never bought from TEMU before...

EBay and Vinted prices seem pretty much the same as new ones for decent looking ones - maybe need to dig deeper. Always happy with 2nd hand.

@Hibernatalie I have had a few funny looks from people when I have been carrying the doll around upside down under my arm because they think she's real 🤣
I will confess I do like carrying her on my shoulder and patting the little bottom. She's lovely and soft bodied.
They do have a lot of hair which is probably the only thing not "realistic" about them.

My daughter has asked for a baby alive doll. I think they are about £50 or so.

Hibernatalie · 27/10/2023 21:23

Thank you, but she wants a realistic one
