The Santa Clause - Tim Allen

Love this!

Watchthedoormat · 25/10/2023 22:14

Santa Claus:The Movie was magical for me as a young child.
The Polar Express I'd say has the edge for older children.

Another vote for the Santa Clause. Makes me wanna watch it now! I get all nostalgic watching it. "Have a lovely bloomin Christmas!" and the Snowman. Classics.

jd88123 · 26/10/2023 00:09

I mean "Father Christmas" by Raymond briggs!

salamithumbs · 26/10/2023 00:16

Yes to the Greatest Store in the World!
Also Home Alone, Annie 1999, Jack Frost and Nativity

BeansFee · 26/10/2023 00:38

DeeCee77 · 26/10/2023 00:47

Scrooge (the 1970 version with Albert Finney..."thank you very much").
Home Alone (1 and 2)
Arthur Christmas (I cried at Arthur being chosen as the next Santa)
Scrooged
National Lampoon Christmas Vacation

Loved Santa Claus the Movie as a kid, but wouldn't watch it now I don't think.

BodegaSushi · 26/10/2023 01:09

Arthur Christmas

DeeCee77 · 26/10/2023 08:42

Just rememberd another one: Trading Places

NeurodivergentBurnout · 26/10/2023 08:46

I came on to say Muppet Christmas Carol! Delighted to see much love for it. Also love Miracle on 34th Street (90s version). Partly set around Christmas - While you were sleeping.

RinklyRomaine · 26/10/2023 08:51

Kids love the Snowman and Polar Express. For me it doesn't start until I've sat in the dark with the Disney animated a Christmas Carol and Its a Wonderful Life.

salamithumbs · 26/10/2023 10:42

Forgot to say Prancer! Or even Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 26/10/2023 10:54

We love:
The Grinch (new one)
Muppets Christmas Carol
Arthur Christmas
Elf
Home Alone 1&2
Santa Clause 1
Jingle all the way

Im surprised dd hasn’t started watching a movie this year. One year we had The Grinch every day from October. Last year she did the same with The Muppets.

KnickerlessParsons · 26/10/2023 10:55

Elf. No question.

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 26/10/2023 10:56

There’s a nice one I think on Netflix called Angela’s Christmas. Not sure if it’s available yet though but it’s nice.

Edit: Yes it’s on Netflix.
