Can anyone inspire me? What are you getting your 4-7 year old boys?

Getting our Ds who will be 4yrs 4 months:
Transformers
A potion set (he loves to do "speriments"
A Playmobil skate park which if bought for his birthday but felt he was a touch young for it.
Lego set
Probably something sonic related!

Hot Wheels Mario Kart and the Botley robot.

@Hungrycaterpillarsmummy can you recommend a potion set?

I have a 4.5yo boy, I’m thinking the main present will be a children’s camera.

The smaller presents are usually books, jigsaw puzzles, a toy he’s currently interested in. I buy
lots of games from Jacques of London, this year I got him a wooden Noughts & Crosses.

Last Christmas the main present was a big roaring T-Rex (from Smyths Toys I think), also got him a monthly science kit subscription, Capt America shield and mask, Avengers action figures.

Tonka trucks are awesome but not all children get a lot of play out of them.

In the stockings I usually put only a few but high quality items - a Georg Jensen bauble, a Holztiger toy, some German marzipan (Niederegger etc), gold coins, a tangerine. Christmas socks.

My 5yr old boy is dino/sea creature/megladon daft so he has asked for the mega chomp shark and baby trex on his wishlist so this is his main ones.. I’ve also got him a remote control mosasaur, Jurassic world bits, a new dino and some toy shark’s.

Non dino related stuff is a new camera that instantly prints the photos, Lego and botzee.

Mine is getting a bike.

Smaller gifts are

  • 30cm action figure villans (to add to his collection)
  • A footy kit from DH gate
  • A teddybear that looks like our cat who he loves

And stocking fillers

Treasure x skull island (only £31) on Amazon atm!

My (almost) 5 year old is ninja turtle obsessed so has asked for some of the toys and the sewer set and we’re getting him a bigger stunt scooter with glow up wheels to level up his 3 wheeled scooter. I’m also making him a craft box. Vinted has also been great for picking up marvel/ super Mario figures etc.

Some lovely ideas on here. In terms of 'smaller' gifts, or ideas for grandparents who've asked for suggestions, I'm looking at a marble run and a cooperative board game (inspired by another thread). He also wants a Robo turtle.

At that age we got DD and DS Lego as their main present - and for several other years!

7Worfs · 25/10/2023 15:01

@Hungrycaterpillarsmummy thank you, I’ll browse now 😊

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 25/10/2023 15:03

At those ages it was lego, playmobil, brio, marble run.

Are you my double??

BIke
Action figures
Footy kit
... okay not a teddy bear!

At 39 I'm still a sucker for the literal size of the main gift being a big part of it so a bike is a big win just there!
