I'm sure a few of us do this to keep costs in check rather than a mad rush on 23rd/24th!

What do you like to buy in the run up to December to try and keep for Christmas? In the past I've bought wine, Baileys etc as I like to have my delivery slot before 10am on 23rd 😄

Also sweets, chocolate etc.

I was looking at batch cooking and veg etc and was wondering if I should buy that sooner and prep and freeze. I know supermarkets actually have really cheap veg 22-24th.

I start stockpiling in November, things like fruit cakes, honey roast peanuts etc. I love Aldi florentines and buy too many boxes of those 😳

Chocolate coins

I only get things I can guarantee I won't be tempted to eat before Christmas. I have a utility room so we start filling a cupboard in there so that it's separate from the food in the kitchen

So far we have:
Hot chocolate
mint sauce ( we have lamb instead of Turkey)
stuffing mix x2
Caramelised onion Chutney
Branston pickle
Pickled onions
Picalili
3x box of posh shortbread (will probably be used as emergency presents for neighbours ect if needed)
Christmas pudding
2x mince pies (I don't personally like them so won't be tempted)
Bucks fizz x2
1 Rose wine
2x red wine (true crimes I think?)
2x schloer
2x cheese football's (dh's absolute fave but they're hidden so he doesn't know they're in there lol)

Going to start buying random things to keep in this week's shop. I'm noting all my things from your lists - thank you!

What are these cheese footballs everyone is buying? Are the same as just cheese balls?

Cranberry sauce and red cabbage done and frozen. Pigs in blankets bought and frozen.
Sweets and snacks started in cupboard, mince pies only when BB dates allow
