We have no kids in our family (by choice) so it’s just me, DH and my parents. Oh and the dog of course! We all get on so have booked a house in Cornwall for Christmas week with by parents, but apart from daily bracing beach walks how else can we make the time fun?

Any ideas to bring a bit of festive spirit to a rented house?
Any mini decorations we can buy to make the house feel more Christmassy? Recommendations for games for four adults?
And anything to make gift giving more imaginative than a card with a voucher in it?

I've got kids but haven't ever really used MN for kids stuff!

Genuine question, not being funny: what bring people without kids to Mumsnet?

This question gets asked all the time. Look at the huge range of topics and only a handful are actually about children!

If you must know, I originally came to mumsnet when TTC. It never happened for us, but no need to feel pity as luckily having a child wasn’t the be all and end all for me! We probably could have gone the IVF route but I didn’t want it that much to try! So now you know!

Anyway(!) some great ideas here so thanks all!

If you are doing Secret Santa wrap the items in a lot of paper to confuse people what it is and adds more mystery. There were 3 of us and it still was fun.

Some great ideas here, love the pictures of the grazing boards.
Totally agreed about jigsaws, for years I rather sneered at jigsaws but now am hooked and have stockpiled a load for the winter months.
