Hi,

My DS already has the Gravitrax starter set; what expansion sets does everyone recommend?

The trampoline, zipline, spiral, catapult and elevator look like things that he’d enjoy playing with but I can only see them as separate little sets, and I was hoping to get one larger set as it’s for a Christmas present - has anyone seen one. Is he likely to need extra basic pieces?

I’d be very grateful for any expansion set recommendations - thanks.

My DS and I recently rediscovered our love for gravitrax and realised he wasn't playing with it as much as the starter set wasn't enough 'stuff' for a good sized run. So I first picked up some duplicate starter sets second hand from eBay (we now have 3...) and FB marketplace and then bought some add-ons like the tunnel set and twirl so the balls can run faster without flying off! Second-hand sets are perfect if you have some locally as they're often in perfect condition.
I'm tempted by the games like this one which might be fun at Christmas. Also, the vertical expansion set as he loves a tall run but it's easy to run out of risers, even with the extra sets!
We love the catapult as it's a challenge to get it to land where we want it! The extension flipper is good for sending a ball back up a level so the run doesn't finish so soon.
Currently debating the advent calendar..... 😁

That’s the issue with my DS - he doesn’t play with the starter set much and I’ve only just realised it’s probably because there isn’t much in it.

It looks like I’ll have to buy multiple small sets then, and find a way of wrapping them together.
