Tablet for 6 year old?

Shufflebumnessie · 08/10/2023 21:09

DD6 recently found DS (very) old Leap Pad and has been loving playing the various games (although they are very basic). However, it's very limited with what's on it.
I'm wondering if an Amzon Fire HD 8 kids tablet might be a good upgrade for her. Does anyone elses 6 year old have one? What do they enjoy most about it? Would you recommend one?
Thanks in advance.

My son is only 4 but loves his Amazon Fire Tablet. There are two aimed at different age ranges, so I think he has the age 3-7, and there's an age 6-12 which has a different variety of games.

They're on offer this week. It may drop further for Prime Day this week, too.

There's the kid's profile on it which has all of the games to choose from, but you can also add a normal profile and on there, we have Netflix, Disney +, YouTube Kids etc.

All mine have only ever had the Amazon fire tablets they are currently 11, 9 & 6 and been using them for about 4 years. We’ve upgraded during that time but always stick to the fire tablets.

There is a prime day sale this week 10/11th so you should get a good deal.

We’ve had multiple Amazon tablets and found them all to be really slow when loading games. Your also restricted on what you can download on them.

We brought our 7 year a iPad 2022 last year for Christmas and it’s lasted a lot longer and is so much better. DS (sen) would get really frustrated waiting for things to load on the Amazon tablet we don’t have this problem with the iPad. The screen is larger as well.

Never used one but the Samsung tablets are around the same price as the Amazon tablets and might be a better option.
