Velvetiser/ Cheaper alternative

I know, I know Velvetiser chat has been done to death but I'm thinking of getting my daughter one for Christmas. My parents sent me this photo of what I assume is a copycat from B&M. Does anyone have this or another version? Or should I just stick with the HC ones?

I’ve just found out the hotel chocolate one is made by dualit so I’d defo go for that one over the velvetiser as there’s about £20 difference

I would hang tight if you can for QVC. They do a todays special value and I am sure last year you got various hot chocolate, cups and the Velvetiser cheaper than what HC could offer.

QVC have this at the moment but pretty regular offers on the Velvetiser .

I bought a milk frother jug ( from Amazon) that goes in the dishwasher (the jug and whisk part) , usually give it two spins to get it hot enough .
DD and I use soya milk , she likes drinking chocolate . DS and I use the HC dark one .

If you sign up to the free VIP hotel chocolat scheme its 69.95 and if you add hot chocolate sachets at the same time they reduce those too. I think its 79.95 for the machine (which includes the 2 cups as standard) and 10 sachets of hot chocolate.

You are paying 103.91 after postage on QVC for velvetiser, 2 cups and 12 sachets in a tin

The aldi one is on sale from Thursday I think although not sure if any good?

I can’t comment on other versions but my sons has been used almost daily for nearly 2 years, great customer service too. I just buy any old hot choc powder though, but the HC stuff is good.

Hot choc is my 12 year olds most favourite thing though, even in 35 degree temps.

How is the velvetiser different to a Nespresso milk frother? If I want hot chocolate I just use that. What am I missing?

I assume the milk frother, just froths? The velvetiser heats the milk as well.

@Tulipvase ah no not true! It heats and froths.

My non- HV one will froth milk hot or cold and has a hot chocolate setting , maybe it;s slightly cooler ?
The HC Velvetiser is meant to be like liquid chocolate mousse (though I haven't tried it myself)

I had Knoops in the shop in Brighton (vegan) it was like drinking Toblerone

Ah right, well in that case, no idea what the difference is. But I do recommend the HC one but it is all I’ve tried.
