Has anyone paid people to decorate the front of their houses for Christmas?

Looked into it this year and to get lights across the front of the house, garland around the porch and then also lights on a large tree in the drive way is coming in at about £2500 which is a bit more than I was expecting. Haven't shopped around but wondered if other people have done this and if so the rough cost?

To be clear not looking to rival Oxford street - just some nice warm lighting and a pretty garland!

Never did it. But wondered about it. As I don’t have lots of time and felt this was the easier option.

Across the road paid someone to do this last year. The guy got up a ladder on the side of their garage and sat a few, tiny deer up there. The deer were maybe 60cm(2ft) tall, but compared to the size of a 2 storey house, and perched on the garage, they looked ridiculously small. There was a string of solar lights around the deer- which only worked when there was sun- in December!

The neighbour wouldn't say exactly, but I got the impression it was about £500, which included the 'rental' of the deer and lights! 😮

Have two options - rental or purchase. Rental is cheaper but obviously not over time.

But I guess if I rent the first year to see if it is worth it then that might make sense.

Moved to the house this year and just want it to feel a bit special - will detract from the building site inside!
