Has anyone got any recommendations on bubble tea kits, in terms of good value and a nice gift. I’m looking more for the fruity ones. My DD’s have reached the age where they done seem to want much for Christmas but they both like these!

Ooh great idea for my DD thank you!

mmmmmchocolate · 27/09/2023 06:28

Thank you @Skyrain those Halloween boxes look fab, I think I want one of those 😂

So you buy the pack and then get the cups/straws on top? Do you have to consume within 30 days as it says that in the pictures?

Definitely love the bubble panda kits. I got my DD the starter kit that's got the big cup in it.

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 27/09/2023 07:09

I made my own kits. The tea is just jasmine tea you can buy in supermarket. The wide boba straws I got off eBay.

I then bought the pearls and fruit syrups online from one of the shops but I cannot remember which one.

it worked out more drinks for same money than buying a ready made kit and they got more flavours.

Re the expiry dates

Your Bubble Panda kit is best consumed within 30 days and use by 60 days.

so presumably best not to buy for Christmas now? Or is this overkill? What actually goes off date?!

But then also says “use by” 60 days

doesn’t make sense!

Place marking, my 14 yo DSD is tricky to buy for but likes this. Great idea.

Gingerkittykat · 27/09/2023 07:43

I personally just buy fruit teas and a huge tub of popping boba from Amazon and make the tea that way. We have some metal straws which are big enough to suck up the boba.

Bubble tea from here. My teens like the fruity type and think these with syrup or powder taste more like those you buy at the high street chains, rather than the actual tea bag ones.

the expiry is 30 days. How come?

Nonplusultra · 27/09/2023 17:10

Thanks for this idea - I’m going to make a kit for my bubble tea obsesssed teen.

These are nice kits @BasketOffEggTopography thank you. And these last 3 months so can buy them a bit sooner. I wonder why there is a difference in shelf life…

@Gingerkittykat how many drinks would you normally get out of the ones you linked?

@Brendabigbaps these look lovely, bit more expensive but is it a case of you get what you pay for?

I bought one from Amazon last year, it was really good and the kids loved making the bubble tea - think it just made 3 or 4 and was about £15

Nuttyroche · 28/09/2023 08:22

Could you link please @stonkytonk11

Xtraincome · 28/09/2023 08:34

Following this as this has encouraged me to start compiling my Xmas list. DDs will love it!

SunflowerOranges · 28/09/2023 08:42

Asda now sell the Bubbleology kits and they are great! They come in a box and are a nice little gift. Around £8 each. You can get a fruity one or milk tea.

PotOfViolas · 28/09/2023 15:56

Nice idea. My dds love bubble tea

Missingpate · 04/10/2023 07:31

I have literally never heard of bubble tea before! Think I have clearly been under a rock with this one. It’s suddenly being mentioned everywhere I look

mmmmmchocolate · 04/10/2023 10:43

Just popping back to update this thread, there was one mentioned on the bargain thread from Oliver Bonas that was £22 but you can get £10 off by creating an account and signing in for the newsletter. It’s arrived to day and it’s from the teashed place that @BasketOffEggTopography recommended.

Im going to try and find a reusable cup to put with it.
