Got mine at just past 8am this morning <happy dance>

BlairWaldorfOG · 26/09/2023 09:46

I've got mine too 😀

Thank you soooo much for posting this! Didn't get an email reminder despite doing my Christmas shopping with them for last few years, always only find out by seeing someone post on here, very grateful!

GOGOGO

I don’t think they’ve sent the emails yet, or maybe they are staggering them - I just went on by chance and was able to book mine!

MattDamon · 26/09/2023 10:57

Just checked and out food hall isn't doing it this year. How bizarre! It's hugely popular, always sells out fast.

BlairWaldorfOG · 26/09/2023 11:44

Glad it's helped some people get slots, I didn't get an email either, stumbled across it looking for Christmas pyjamas.

Did anyone buy a Turkey? I've ordered a crown, the one I normally get but now dithering over changing it to a slow cooked one. Anyone try them last year?

Lightsandtights · 26/09/2023 12:58

I am a bit disappointed this year. They just seem to do less and less every year.

Yes, same. I don’t know if they haven’t released their full range yet or whether they’re having some items as in-store only this year as some of the things the journalists seem to have tried weren’t on the website at all

ManchesterRoad · 26/09/2023 14:21

I agree I was disappointed! I was expecting much more to be available to order after seeing their press events etc.

BlairWaldorfOG · 26/09/2023 19:31

Yes I'm hoping they add some more to it, the puddings were a disappointment.

Ordered mine this morning too. I've got in my order -

1 x Lamb Crown
2 x Aberdeen Angus Sirloin of Beef with Porcini infused butter
1 x Fillet of Beef
3 x Dauphinoise Potatoes
2 x Pine Cones
1 x Cheesecake
1 x Yule Log

Grand total = £366 😱

I think their beef is much nicer than the turkey and if I was getting turkey now I would go elsewhere. The Sirloin beef was lovely last year, much nicer and tastier than the fillet.

I am not going to buy it anywhere near it all, but you can amend your order up to a certain date (I can't find the date yet) and it means if you change you mind/plans you don't end up missing out because something is later out of stock.

But don't do what I did last year and end up forgetting to cancel before the cutoff! 🤦‍♀️ We ate VERY well between Christmas and into early January last year and then lived on beans and toast for a month! 🤣

Alstroemeria123 · 26/09/2023 20:41

I’ve got the lamb crown plus a stuffed turkey crown and the sprout gratin thing.

Very small Christmas this year, plus plan to do an Ocado order so most of the rest will probably come from there. They actually seem to do more of the M&S Christmas range than the M&S Christmas food store

vinoandbrie · 26/09/2023 21:30

Argh, how did I miss this! Going to look now, thank you v much OP!

Talapia · 26/09/2023 21:43

I'm also disappointed, less and less each year.

I didn't book last year and won't this year.

Talapia · 26/09/2023 21:49

I've just looked at the Sainsburys food to order, think it looks better than Marks this year.

Mrsfussypants1 · 26/09/2023 21:55

I've amended my order a couple of times already and I'm leaving it at that.

Collection organic British turkey crown ( was a hit last year so sticking with it)
Collection Cherry wood smoked ham joint
Prawn and scallop cheese bake
Collection garnish

So tempted by the porchetta, lamb crowns and some scallops, but we are visiting family after Christmas so it's pointless. Deserts I'll pick up nearer the time like last year, or make one.

Minimum spend has leapt, as well.

Minimum spend has leapt, as well.

I was sure it used to be a £10 deposit.

Blanketpolicy · 27/09/2023 09:26

Lightsandtights · 27/09/2023 09:04

I was sure it used to be a £10 deposit.

That must have been a few years back! I checked my old emails and in 2017 it was £30, went up to £40 around 2020, now £50.

BlairWaldorfOG · 27/09/2023 09:52

I've ordered the sirloin and porchetta, I've ordered the gammon for boxing day too, didn't bother with desserts I'll make something and then try to pick something in store on the 23rd when I collect.

Most years we host a big Christmas but this year it's us and the children so I've cheated and bought the veg too this year so we can spend less time prepping more time relaxing.

I looked at the Sainsbury's food to order and that looked good, the extra bits like the cheese etc has more variety than M&S but I'm going to grab those things and a turkey from the market.

Did anyone have the tripe yule log thing last year with popping candy?

Was it any good?

And, is the popping candy all in a separate sachet? Who over the age of 10 wants popping candy on chocolate cake???????
