Santa overkill?

Every year we go to see Father Christmas at our local garden centre. I have a photo of the kids with him (the same man) since 2018, missing out 2020 for obvious reasons.

This year, I decided not to go because my sister has treated us to Polar Express tickets and you meet Santa on the train. Also, we are going to Warwick Castle just before Christmas and that includes a visit with Santa and I though 3 Santa visits was just too much.

But...
now tickets are on sale for the usual garden centre Santa and I'm tempted. 3 Santa visits is too many, isn't it?

If your kids would enjoy it and you can afford it, I’d crack on!

Probably but I have done this in the past 🤣

How old are the kids? Would it bother you if they started to put 2 and 2 together after seeing 3 different Santa's in quick succession?

Hibernatalie · 12/09/2023 19:40

Thank you all!

@Hellocatshome this is my main concern. They are 7 and 5. Was considering telling them that the garden centre one is real but the other 2 are just his helpers.

If there believers I would stick with one.

Leave it. You don’t want kids going “but I don’t want to meet Santa again”. Do something else festive instead

TropicalTrama · 14/09/2023 17:20

Leave it! If the 7YO isn’t questioning it already then 2/3 blokes that all look a bit different in different grottos will guarantee that they’ll twig. And ‘the others are the real Santa’s helpers’ might convince a 5YO but I’d be astounded if a 7YO fell for it.

When mine were little we saw multiple Santa’s most years but then mine were bought up with Santa as a story not a truth so it was just a nice photo and a present .
