Secondhand bargains boast thread

My kids are young and don't realise the difference between new and secondhand, so I get them mainly secondhand gifts to be a bit more eco friendly.

I've also started to gift secondhand books and plants (cuttings that I've grown) to the adults.

Thought it might be nice to connect with likeminded people and boast about the amazing secondhand bargains we find in the run up to Christmas!

Anyone keen to chat charity shops?

Love a charity shop find. When dd wanted a new computer game I would remind her that the only difference between new and pre-owned was a cellophane wrapper. She soon cottoned on she could get 3 for the cost of one new.

And yes, yes, yes to the pre-loved book or toy. Thrifty way to build up a library or collection.

I love your gift ideas!

We are buying second hand again this year. Saved a fortune last year. Now is the time to start trawling Facebook market place.

Love a good charity shop. Our first playmobil (a farm) came courtesy of one. I got the ferris wheel, a navitity set and two of the little magnetic playsets from marketplace one year.

Last year, I got several Angelina Ballerina books for dd who loves her ballet and a big bag of nerf guns/bullets for ds.

My mum got a couple of the original Monster High dolls for dd recently. She's put them aside for Christmas.
